Job Description

At RapidScale, exceptional technology is powered by exceptional people. As a growing leader in secure, reliable managed cloud solutions, we help SMBs and enterprises alike simplify IT and unleash innovation. With a broad portfolio spanning AWS, Azure and Google to a full set of Private Cloud and Cybersecurity solutions, RapidScale helps companies turn technology into their biggest competitive advantage.  As part of the Cox family of companies, we offer best-in-class benefits, a commitment to work-life balance, and an award-winning workplace experience.

We are searching for a Senior Manager of Content Marketing to join our team and manage the production of high-quality thought leadership whitepapers, eBooks, case studies, blogs, web content and infographics aimed at technology buyers.

You will report to the Chief Marketing Officer and play a key role in developing content that cuts through the noise and engages prospective buyers. In this position, you will manage a team of two Content Writers and execute RapidScale's content strategy to drive engagement, generate Marketing Qualified Leads (MQLs), and contribute to revenue growth. You will also build and refine buyer persona profiles and manage the content calendar. Strong writing, conceptual communication, and proofreading skills are essential for success in this role.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Collaborate with the Chief Marketing Officer to develop and implement RapidScale's content strategy, focusing on generating a high volume of MQLs.

Manage a team of writers to produce 3-4 thought leadership pieces per week, including whitepapers, eBooks, blogs, case studies, and infographics, all designed to engage technology buyers. As a player/coach, you will personally write 3-4 thought leadership pieces each month.

Work with the writers to conceptualize and outline content pieces, including identifying the target buyer persona, creating story outlines, providing supporting statistics, and determining the preferred media type.

Develop and maintain detailed buyer persona profiles, outlining their mission, responsibilities, KPIs, biases, and pain points. Create and update Content Architectures for each persona to guide them through the buyer's journey—from awareness to consideration to decision.

Oversee and maintain the content calendar, ensuring timely delivery of content pieces for campaign execution.

Proofread and edit all thought leadership and marketing communications to ensure content is free of factual and grammatical errors.

Manage RapidScale’s content inventory, including posting, refreshing, and retiring content as necessary to improve lead generation and revenue creation.

Collaborate with Designers to ensure that copy tone and style align with visual elements.

Oversee the creation of copy for various marketing materials, including sales collateral, executive communications, new pitches, social media posts, print ads, and digital copy.

Research industry-related topics to identify content gaps and opportunities for new content creation.

Apply SEO best practices to optimize articles and increase visibility.

Interview clients, industry experts, and internal teams to gather insights and build compelling stories.

Be a conceptual thinker and a skilled writer, capable of delivering content that embodies RapidScale’s brand voice.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications) and 8 years of experience in content marketing, preferably in a technology company.

Alternative combinations will be considered, such as a master’s degree with 6 years of experience, a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant experience.

3 years of experience in a management or leadership role.

Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong attention to detail.

Strong technical copywriting abilities and a thorough understanding of editing processes.

Proficiency in Workfront or similar project management tools.

Experience in journalism is a plus.
