Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, Corporate Trust, you will work closely with him to build our Real Estate Trustee Capability in Singapore focused on providing trustee services for Singapore Unit Trusts holding investments in Singapore or cross border across APAC. At CSC, we provide trustee and fund administration services for private equity real estate managers and investors investing across APAC .
In general, we are responsible for operating trusts in our capacity as trustee. We interact closely with fund managers and investors, lawyers and tax advisers and review and agree documentation. Each situation is unique and requires sound knowledge of the funds trustee market.
Some of the things you’ll be doing:
You will be part of a team building a strong Unit Trustee capability in Singapore and building a Client Service team dedicated to delivering an excellent client service experience, striving to enhance existing relationships through improved service and developing a service model and reputation that attracts new clients. You will assist with client issues independently, proactively and efficiently to the satisfaction of the client. You will offer feedback to and share best practice with team members as required so that their individual and collective performance meets the current and future needs of the business. Very often, you will support the on-boarding of clients, periodic kyc reviews, liaising with clients and operations to obtain information to satisfy internal policies and external legal / regulatory frameworks.
Responsibilities
· Review transaction documents alongside the transaction management team to ensure operational feasibility and to understand the deal structure to extract administrative and operational duties stipulated.
· Responsible for the set up and ongoing management of a portfolio of assigned transactions to ensure that the duties and obligations required as a trustee and/or agent are promptly fulfilled or discharged professionally.
· Handle all operational and administrative task including execution of client instructions, preparation and review of reports, interest calculations, monitoring of financial covenants and maintenance of deal administration file and billings.
· Handle all corporate secretarial matters for a portfolio of Singapore trusts including drafting the documents for the trusts.
· Perform Singapore company’s administration duties including upload of financial statements in new XBRL format and lodgment of changes and annual return with the ACRA
· Ensure all on-going statutory, legal and transactional obligations of the trusts are met and ensure good corporate governance throughout.
· Work with the management and team on corporate governance and company secretarial matters to assist in managing, mitigating and monitoring corporate governance risk.
· Providing guidance and supervision to other team members on legal documentation, transaction structure and mechanics.
· Ensure the adherence of internal control procedures and seamless ongoing administration of deals.
· Assist with the preparation of management reports and handling of control / compliance matters in accordance with the internal and regulatory requirements.
· Assist the Head of Corporate Trust Services in formulating and implementing procedures and policies in relation to operational efficiency and quality of service delivery.
· Work with internal parties locally and globally on projects and new products rollout.
What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
· A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in banking or corporate trust experience highly preferred. Candidates with strong legal and transaction management experience in trustee services for funds or SPVs will be highly regarded.
· Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound knowledge of corporate trust and corporate secretarial work.
· Details oriented, diligent, strong team-player and ability to work independently. Accomplished in producing results and solving problems under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines.
· Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
· Leadership and organizational skills are required to manage the portfolio of deals and to develop the skills of team members.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English).
