Lead the Credit and Collections Accounts Receivable department and serve as the face of Credit and Collections shared services while providing best-in-class service. Assist in the creation and execution of the Collections strategy by incorporating continuous improvement, efficiency and accuracy improvements and measure thru metrics-based performance analysis. Manage system and process integration efforts while optimizing processes, controls, and expenses.
Job Functions:
Help drive best-in-class Credit and Collections shared services functions by assisting in the definition of the future strategy and serving as the SME/executing on strategic projects. This may include identifying/developing/implementing new processes, streamlining processes, increasing process efficiencies, decreasing errors, enhancing/improving systems, integrating subsidiaries, and developing/implementing required compliance/regulatory initiatives. Incorporate continuous productivity and efficiency improvements using metrics-based performance analysis and a "lean" approach. Manage system and process integration efforts into a shared service/centralized environment.
Lead and manage the overall functions ensuring collections are processed timely/accurately and act as a control point to ensure customer additions, changes, and collections are accurate and timely. Identify, quantify and resolve Credit and Collections issues to ensure the accuracy of month end close. Help build the annual budget for the department and review monthly.
Partner with leaders across multiple functional areas to identify and implement cross functional process improvement/automation opportunities and ensure accurate business process documentation. Build cross functional efficiencies spending less time managing data processing activities and more time on activities which contribute to the success of the business. Seek out and execute against process improvements initiatives that are medium to large in scope; focusing on efficient and effective processes that leverage automation and creative solutions.
Coach, mentor and provide work direction to the Accounts Receivable credit & collections team. Motivate the team to exceed goals and proactively manage qualitative and quantitative performance by ensuring SLAs and other operating metrics are achieved. Serve as a key owner of business processes utilized by the Credit and Collections functional area and build positive relationships and effectively support business partners.
Lead outsourced Credit and Collections relationships including tracking of key performance metrics and adherence to SLAs. Outsourced relationships include third party collection agencies, printing and mailing services and BPO provider, etc.
Serve as the Accounts Receivable SOX owner. Maintain a robust system of internal controls that will ensure compliance with SOX and continuously improve control procedures and compliance. Ensure that systems and procedures are documented, consistent, and in compliance with company policies, acceptable accounting practices, SOX and applicable regulations.
Basic Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s and 7 years or Master’s and 6 years.
4 years of management experience
Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, data validation, filtering, and working with large data sets.
Understanding of SOX control environments
Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP, balance sheet, P&L, journal entries, accruals, etc).
Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting
Experience: 8 years of progressive responsibility in a Credit and Collections environment
Proven analytical skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Excellent organizational skills, keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Project management experience strongly preferred, both leading projects and partnering with others on multi-departmental projects.
SAP experience strongly preferred.
Ability to manage relationship with third party outsourced providers, and communication skills to address issues as needed.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $110,000.00 - $127,000.00 annually. This position will be eligible for commission or an annual performance incentive plan. The base pay actually offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, location, experience and take into account internal equity.Benefits
