Your Opportunity as the Senior Manager, Data Analytics

We are seeking a Senior Data Analytics Manager with a passion for coaching and leadership.  In this role, you will be responsible for developing and advancing analytics capabilities across the commercial organization to support internal stakeholders in Sales, Category, and Marketing.  This individual will collaborate closely with analysts to guide, mentor and coach as they translate their business needs into analytical and quantitative solutions.

In this role you will:

Possess a strong business acumen, have a strong understanding of sales & marketing processes, data sources, advanced analytics tools as well as working knowledge of field support practices and decision support systems  

Use your expertise in advanced analytical techniques to support analysts in providing actionable insights to the commercial team to inform and influence strategic decision-making 

Develop analytics and technical content to contribute to a holistic analytics training program/curriculum with partnership from SMEs in respective business areas 

Evolve complexity of training content as analytics maturity increases and platform usage is widespread 

Coach, mentor and guide commercial analysts in business application of quantitative analysis through analysis and code reviews with emphasis on scoping and approach 

Facilitate analytical and technical trainings 

Coordinate and develop content (analysis) for analytical best practices, lead monthly share-outs with commercial analysts 

Identify opportunities for centralization of data products (dashboards, scaled analytics, data science support) and partner with respective owners on development plan 

Develop, share and maintain sample code for repeatable tasks using technical best practices for analysts  

Be responsible for advancing relevant, informative, and user-friendly insights to help inform and influence strategic decisions across all our businesses 

Partner closely with IS team to configure analytics environment in support of sales analysts 

Establish strong analytics foundation and best practices that includes EDA, data validation, methodology

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Math, Statistics, Economics or related field with emphasis on analytics or quantitative analysis 

7+ years of related work experience analyzing data and delivering business insights 

3+ years of people management experience with strong leadership skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills 

Proven experience distilling complex analyses into a consumable story in a clear and concise manner to non-technical audience  

Exposure to Statistical and Machine Learning algorithms and their applications to business questions across Sales, Category, Marketing 

High degree of proficiency in SQL and thorough understanding of database architecture 

Proficiency working in analytics environment or platform, Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake 

Experience with large volumes of structured and unstructured data including a wide breadth of data types; Syndicated/POS data sources, panel/survey data, publicly available macroeconomic data 

Proven experience independently managing cross-functional projects, delivering results on tight timelines with minimal direction from leadership 

Proficient in interpreting business metrics, executing complex analyses, and connecting multiple data sources to explain business performance 

Experience with multiple visualization and business intelligence platforms (Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI, RShiny) 

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

Master’s Degree in quantitative field

CPG, Retail or Consultancy experience
