A singular technology platform powered by data and machine learning provides secure, differentiated, and personalized experiences for the traveler and our partners that drive loyalty and customer satisfaction.The Senior Manager, Data Engineering - Advertising Technology is part of the MeSo ADAM (Audience, Data, Attribution & Measurement) team which sits within our Product & Technology division. This team is responsible for improving Ad Relevancy for our customers and increasing/providing insights for our advertisers through the use of data. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers chartered with building data oriented solutions for Expedia's Travel Media Network.
In this role, you will:
Lead and Innovate: Manage and mentor a team of data engineers to design, build, and scale Expedia Group’s expanding advertising network.
Collaborate Strategically: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management and data science, to define goals, prioritize projects, and ensure successful implementation of solutions that meet business needs.
Build For the Future: Create world-class data products and solutions for Expedia Group’s Travel Media Network.
Drive Innovation: Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies in ad tech, integrating innovative approaches into our platform to maintain a competitive edge.
Cultivate Talent: Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and technical excellence within the team. Mentor engineers to support their professional growth and maximize their potential.
Deliver End-to-End Solutions: Collaborate across teams to deliver seamless solutions that delight our advertising partners and drive measurable business outcomes.
Experience and qualifications:
Engineering Expertise: 7+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in advertising technology or related fields.
Leadership Experience: 3+ years of people management experience, with a track record of successfully leading engineering teams.
AdTech Knowledge: Understanding of advertising technologies such as real-time bidding, ad exchanges, and programmatic advertising.
Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of data development processes, data design principles, and systems architecture.
Analytical Mindset: Experience with machine learning, analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
Strong Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is a plus.
The total cash range for this position in Chicago is $161,000.00 to $225,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $257,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
