We have an exciting opportunity for an Senior Operations Manager in Venlo (Netherlands).
Department Overview:
The Operations Department takes care of the receiving, storage, order fulfillment and returns for all Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo orders in Retail, Wholesale and Ecommerce.
What You’ll Do:
You will be budget responsible for optimal result and success of all operational functions within a highly complex distribution center environment. The Senior Manager Operations supervises and mentors all direct and indirect reports as well as partners with (internal and external) stakeholders and suppliers to develop and execute strategies and objectives to maximize productivity while controlling expenses.
Oversee daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in order fulfillment, inventory management, and shipping/receiving processesLeads and mentors the operations teams of Warehouse Managers and Warehouse Supervisors with direct and indirect reports totaling up to 200 or more associates.Leads and directs associates to anticipate and solve problems related to upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc.Leads to ensure operational optimization in all warehouse areas, efficient usage and leverage of warehouse management system(s) and related equipment, in accordance to (regulations with regards to) inventory, safety, Security & Fraud, stores and customs compliance.Acts like a business owner managing the related budgets and controlling costs, while providing first class service. Evaluates and identify opportunities for enhancements and efficiencies in fulfillment processes and product flow.Determines short and long term resource requirements and planning based on volume in partnering with DC Planning, S&OP all channels and Human Resources.Monitors Distribution Center safety, physical security and operational metrics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.Creates an employee-centered work place that demonstrates care and concern for all employees.Coaches, trains, and develops management and supervisory team informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance based feedback.Leads in the selection and training of qualified associates by partnering with the Human Resources or other members of the management team for interviewing, hiring, performance reviews, corrective counseling, and terminations within the Distribution Center.Establishing and adjusting work procedures and shift schedules to meet deadlines as dictated by volume fluctuationsEnsures a culture of safety throughout the organization by following Michael Kors as well as regulatory safety policies and proceduresWill be part of the local Leadership TeamYou’ll Need to Have:
Bachelor degree in a related field is requiredPrevious warehouse management is required; preferably 10 years’ experience with 5 years in a senior manager capacityStrong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant technologies (Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management System is plus)Experience in implementing a continuous improvement cultureAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers and the general publicAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusionsExcellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to develop and foster teamwork and a people oriented cultureStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesWe’d Love to See:
