Our SES/EHS Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of required safety, health, environmental, sustainability and related management system programs and processes.

The successful candidate will plan and oversee Safety (Cal OSHA), Regulatory and Environmental related compliance programs and/or projects, be responsible for Safety (Cal OSHA), Regulatory and Environmental activities of product qualification and certification with government regulatory agencies, may serve as an official representative of the organization for contacting governmental officials. Leads/supervises a team of one professional and work with local management team to integrate Safety, Environmental & Security activities into The Coca-Cola Quality System.

​Job Related Duties and Key Responsibilities

Facilitate Risk Assessment Process (FMEA, Health & Safety Risks, Environmental Aspects and Impacts) in order to mitigate risks.Establish, conduct or respond to health and safety assessments/analyses in plant (e.g., medical surveillance, worker exposure, WC assessment, defining drug/alcohol testing protocol) to minimize health and safety risks.Lead the implementation of the Company's wastewater quality, asbestos, and ammonia strategy including review and approval of suppliers and design firms, compliance tracking and review/approval of designs. Develop implementation strategies, implement, evaluate and/or certify effective implementation of corporate EHSS Systems. Conduct risk assessment by identifying and assessing potential magnitude of risk (e.g., environmental, safety, regulatory, production feasibility and quality) and creating contingency plans.Prepare for plant emergency situations in plant by establishing medical response program and emergency response organization including management of injured workersDuring times of serious incident, serve as a site member of the crisis management team by directing efforts when requested, offering recommendations, interpreting regulations and completing communication, including government regulators or agencies.Ensure compliance with EPA and DTSC’s hazardous waste regulations, i.e. California Code of Regulations (CCR) at Title 22 Social Security, Division 4.5, Environmental Health Standards for the Management of Hazardous Waste. Champion sustainability efforts within the facility.Design and deliver SES procedure and management system related training modules at five levels: New Hire Orientation, Annual Review, Specialty, Contractor, and ManagementDevelop implementation strategies, implement, evaluate and/or certify effective implementation of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs and standards.Establish and maintain medical response program and emergency response organization.Coordinate and communicate findings of internal and external audits to management staff and ensure items of non-conformance are addressed and corrected according to schedule.Effectively translate safety and sustainability goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data.Routinely review safety and sustainability results with plant personnel to maximize facility performance.Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety and sustainability culture.Participate in industry organizations to stay current on technologies, process and regulations.Seek, share and adopt ideas and best practices in and outside the Company and embrace change introduced by others.Design, implement and execute programs and processes to protect the safety and health of employees.Ensure facility compliance of all environmental programs including the Source Vulnerability Assessment, SPCC, SWP3, SWPP. UST, AST, RMP, ERP, etc.Ensure facility compliance with good environmental practices and applicable regulations.Establish and maintain appropriate relationships with state and local regulatory agencies. Represent company on regulatory issues with impact outside local plant.This role will coordinate with team and functional management, including HR, to manage injured workers including return to work programs.

Education and Additional Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Related DisciplineDegree in Environment Sciences/Management and/or Occupational Safety Management PreferredMinimum 7 years of experience in safety, environmental processes and proceduresRegistered Environmental Manager (REM) or equivalent environmental certification.Prefer Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other applicable certificationPrefer experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA regulatory requirementsAbility to design, develop and implement effective management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001)Knowledge of procedures used to anticipate, recognize, evaluate and control physical, chemical, biological and ergonomic hazardsAbility to interact with government officials

Skills:

Pay Range:

$120,000 - $149,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
