Position Summary
Are you ready to build something impactful and lead a new chapter for our engineering team in Pune, India?
We’re seeking a hands-on Senior Engineering Manager to set up and lead our first engineering team in Pune. You’ll work closely with our in-office Customer Operations team while collaborating with teams in the Netherlands and North America to solve real-world problems for our global customers.
In this role, you’ll roll up your sleeves to build the team from the ground up. You’ll hire great people, help them grow, and create an environment where they can do their best work. Your team will tackle real challenges, delivering practical solutions that matter. It’s all about finding smart ways to balance big-picture goals with day-to-day execution, keeping things aligned and impactful.

What You’ll Do
Hire, onboard, and build your high-performing engineering team in Pune, India
Empower a team of engineers with varying levels of expertise and domain experience to achieve a high level of efficiency, quality, and consistency
Expand the team through hiring and onboarding, including mentoring and growing junior engineering managers as the team grows
Collaborate extensively with stakeholders across the entire company. You’ll find yourself working most closely with Product, Design, your fellow engineers, and our most strategic customers, but you will need strong relationships with all departments to be most effective.
As part of an engineering leadership team that punches far above its weight, you’ll dive into projects that influence the processes, efficiency, and development of HackerOne’s Engineering department.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years managing software engineering teams
Product development within SaaS environments
Experience in customer operations roles and/or organizations
Strong stakeholder management skills
Proven track record of delivering within time and budget constraints
Proven leadership experience in engineering, preferably within the security domain.
Strong strategic thinking and creative problem-solving abilities.
Passion for empowering and developing engineering talent.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to balance competing priorities and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
The position is based in Pune and will be office based. We are seeking candidates located in Pune, and the surrounding metropolitan areas.

4,568,000 - 5,710,000 INR per annum
