Tasks and Qualifications:What Will I Do?
Project Execution
Promote safety culture across organization with a focus on zero incidents and 100% compliance.Ensure accuracy and achievement of critical metrics for quality, timely delivery, and cost. Proactively clear roadblocks to critical metric target attainment for project teams.Cultivate a culture of compliance through open communication and by empowering all team members.Manage project execution risk by validating effective project staffing strategies, conducting technical reviews, and maintaining consistent alignment with standard work and quality processes.FinancialWe work with Managers to review project budgets and actual costs, identifying problem areas and developing mitigation plans where appropriate. We also maintain ownership of the team’s financial budgets using associated actual cost data provided on a monthly basis.Take vital actions to ensure staffing levels and talent support current and forecasted workload.People LeadershipLead team members by example and by living KION's shared Group Values and Leadership Principles.Be a mentor to Engineering Managers.Evaluate and assign suitable fields and subject areas of resources to effectively deliver engineering content using all available talent pools both within and outside the organization.Support talent development through active and consistent engagement including 1-1 meetings, real-time learning/mentor opportunities, and training programs.Engage in regular communications with team members via mechanisms such as: 1-1 meetings; project team discussions; peer group meetings; and people feedback.What we are looking for:You will need an Engineering Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls) or equivalent experience along with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a related field with previous leadership and team management experience.Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.Outstanding ability to interact effectively in a team-based organization and with employees of all levels and backgrounds across all functions.Proven customer-facing skillsAbility to work well under pressure and remain calm under stress as these projects are typically completed around customer production schedules with aggressive downtime windows. The ability to quickly adapt to unexpected challenges and work the issue with engineering leaders and team. Strong problem-solving skills!Earn those travel points! A willingness to travel as needed to project sites, customer meetings, support pre-sales activities, supplier meetings, etc is needed. Typically, travel can be around 10% to 15% of a Senior Manager's time per month.
