Senior Manager, Environmental Sustainability

This position leads the global design and implementation for sustainability programs focusing on the Disney Consumer Products’ business within Disney Experiences. Role drives sustainable product improvement, measurement and communications across global DCP businesses including vertically developed, wholesale and licensed product.
**Role Overview**
**2030 Environmental Goals & Public Commitments**
+ Drive strategy, roll-out plans and training programs to develop more sustainable products with internal teams, suppliers and licensees in line with the TWDC 2030 materials and emissions (scope 3) goals
+ Deploy product, packaging and manufacturing goals working with global cross-functional teams aligning with strategy, licensing, brand, creative, packaging, product development, legal, supply chain and other key stakeholder teams
+ Deploy formal engagement programs (“supplier engagement”) to licensees to help them understand scope 3 emissions and set their own Science-Based Targets
+ Lead a small technical team supporting DCP sustainability initiatives
+ Ensure alignment among various teams working on DCP sustainability (materials, packaging, product integrity), even if they do not report to you
+ Align objectives between enterprise CSR, Global Public Policy (GPP) and various global teams on company-wide sustainability policies
+ Develop business processes, measurement and compliance systems to track sustainability KPIs for CSR reports, internal dashboards as well as other reporting frameworks
+ Work with global DCP teams, including legal and licensing leaders, on the areas above to ensure consistent approach and effective deployment
**Sustainability Messaging**
+ Work with communications partners in development of sustainability communications programs in line with TWDC branded efforts
+ Protect against greenwashing risks and provide expertise globally on product specific environmental and/or sustainability claims with legal, policy and brand
+ Collaborate with marketing (and other) teams on sustainability communications
+ Monitor evolving policy landscape to deliver best-in-class sustainability communications
**Technical, Partner & Relationships**
+ Provide technical expertise for cross category level sustainably initiatives on packaging, hardlines, softlines and consumables
+ Act as technical expert on product sustainability attributes, certifications and life cycle environmental impacts
+ Responsible for staying current on industry trends, innovative material trends bringing insights back to business teams for future product development
+ Foster relations with key global licensees and industry trade organizations on sustainably topics including scope 3, plastics/single-use plastics, environmental goals, sustainable packaging and/or materials and science-based targets
+ Lead and partner with sourcing and teams on supply chain sustainability strategy
**Required Qualifications and Skills**
+ 7 or more years of progressive sustainability experience in related fields in government, corporate or professional services settings required.
+ **_Preferred:_** Direct consumer product or retail experience
**Education**
+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, public policy or other related fields required.
+ **_Preferred:_** Masters degree in environmental science
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $151,000.00-$202,500.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
