The Senior Manager, Balance Sheet Management Finance is a senior professional role within Corporate FP&A team. The candidate will lead FP&A in effectively partnering, challenging and refining forecasts of Schwab’s balance sheet. The role will own monthly financial reporting and forward-looking analytics. This role will be the subject matter expert within FP&A on balance sheet topics. This position will work across the Finance organization, including Treasury, Controllers, Investor Relations and Finance Risk Management.
What you haveBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field5-7+ years of experience in FP&A, Treasury, Investor Relations or ControllersExperience and knowledge of scenario modeling and balance sheet management including capital, liquidity and market risk within financial services industryProactive, self-starter, with high level of personal responsibility to manage and deliver multiple projects and succeed in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment with minimal directionAbility to logically structure analytical problems and use critical reasoning skills to evaluate financial forecasts and guide senior stakeholdersAbility to partner up, down, and across the organization deliver financial forecasts and reportingLeverage relationships and credibility with senior stakeholders in Finance organization to advance goalsExcellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skillsMastery of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Think-cell to deliver executive level financial storytellingStrong knowledge of financial systems (IBM Planning Analytics, PeopleSoft Financials, PolyPaths)Effective in data and visualization software (Tableau, SQL, GCP)
What you'll do:
Responsible for building the capability for FP&A to effectively partner, challenge, and refine forecasts of balance sheet, financial risk stripes and metrics for the consolidated company and all subsidiariesLead production of balance sheet executive and Board reporting. Ensure consistent storytelling of forecasted balance sheet, financial risk stripes and metrics to all internal and external forumsEnsure Finance leaders always have complete and accurate forecast data to make informed reviews of key balance sheet reportingDevelop data foundation using analytical tools to track key business performance drivers and metrics, identify the potential opportunities or risks, and enhance transparency and accountabilityWork cross-functionally to drive sustainable and efficient forecasting improvement efforts, including enhancements to financial systems and governanceServe as subject matter expert and thought leader for FP&A team members on balance sheet management topics. Implement training program to upskill FP&A knowledge and effectiveness on balance sheet management topicsRepresent FP&A in all balance sheet management work, including all ALCO Capital, Liquidity and Market Risk working groupsMaintain sound risk management and control environment for balance sheet forecastingPerform ad hoc analysis related to understanding business and client trends and their financial impact for balance sheet managementIn addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities.
