Senior Manager, Financial Crime Advice

Are you an experienced financial crime professional looking for a dynamic role with variety, responsibility and impact? QBE is seeking a Senior Manager, Financial Crime Advice to drive improvements in our financial crime framework through a mix of prevention, detection and response initiatives. This is a high-visibility role, advising the business across AUSPAC and helping shape financial crime controls that protect our operations.
Your new role
In this role, you will:
Lead and refine the existing financial crime framework, ensuring robust and effective risk management.Provide expert advice on sanctions, and anti-money laundering (AML), fraud and bribery and corruption to support business decision-making.Implement controls and identify financial crime risks ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations.Oversee financial crime reporting including dashboards, statistics and thematic analysis.Support investigations team providing guidance when needed.Educate and train business stakeholders on financial crime risks and best practices.Manage and mentor a direct report, fostering professional growth and development.Engage proactively with stakeholders to promote awareness of the financial crime team’s role and purpose.About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Strong financial crime experience with a focus on sanctions and bribery and corruption frameworks.Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.Proven ability to write clear and effective reports on financial crime matters.A passion for educating and advising business teams.Insurance industry experience preferred but not required.People management skills, with the ability to support and develop team members.Ability to review and enhance existing frameworks rather than build from scratch.AML experience required for our New Zealand and Pacific regions; knowledge of regional regulatory requirements is a plus.A collaborative and easy-going team player who enjoys proactively networking across the business.About QBE
