Senior Manager, Franchise Development (IHOP)

The Senior Manager of Franchise Development is primarily responsible for all franchise sales activity related to the recruitment of new IHOP franchisees in the United States. The Senior Manager of Franchise Development will serve as a key contributor and driver of US development, creating the strategy for lead generation, qualifying franchisee candidates, managing the on-boarding process, proposing development territories, and signing new single- and multi-unit development agreements.

The Senior Manager of Franchise Development will also assist in successfully transitioning new franchisees to the real estate and construction support teams. This role has critical impact to overall company revenue and profitability as well as being a key driver in our brand’s continued development.

Responsibilities:

Sign new franchisees to single- and multi-unit development plans to meet company goals Work with marketing team and outside agencies to implement effective lead generation Proactively seek, pursue and qualify franchise candidates in target markets Guide potential candidates through the franchise opportunity and induction process Ensure that all required documentation is completed for franchisee approval Oversee content development and maintain ownership of all Discovery Day plans and activities Work with existing and new franchisees to identify viable sites for new restaurant development Review development commitment schedules to assist franchisees in executing against obligations Collaborate with VPs/Directors to identify opportunities and build strategic plans in targeted geographies Collaborate with new site deal makers, design, construction, operations, facilities, accounting, finance, lease administration and legal teams Collaborate with brokers, landlords and developers to execute on the store expansion strategy Assist with evaluating franchisee business plans and site packages to ensure profitable growth and compliance with brand standards Proactively identify opportunities and initiatives to strengthen, improve and drive new market entry Follow company policies, uphold professional standards, and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to franchise sales and disclosure information  

Skills & Requirements: 

Minimum 5 years Development experience in the restaurant or retail industry A proven track record of demonstrated franchise sales success Process and detail oriented with excellent commercial and analytical skills Strong team orientation and interpersonal skills with innate ability to build relationships Time management and organization skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment Excellent oral, written and presentation skills Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Finance, Architecture 30%-50% travel Experience working in a multi-unit, franchise focused organization a plus
