JOB DESCRIPTION 

As a Senior Manager of the Material and Tool Install Team under Global Facilities Procurement, you will be responsible for establishing the category strategy and supplier relationships for assigned categories. 

This Senior Manager role leads global category supplier managers. The team works on a dynamic portfolio of categories and sub-categories including tool install categories and various material categories such as CSA material and MEP material. 

The team will play a key role in supporting Micron’s global expansion projects and existing facilities across Micron’s global footprint for both greenfield and brownfield projects. 

You will have experience leading global teams and monitoring performance metrics to identify and implement continual improvement opportunities. 

In this role, you are expected to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, third-party service providers, and suppliers across multiple categories and regions, in an indirect procurement leadership role. You will engage in and lead the development and implementation of category strategies to optimize cost, supply, and quality. 

You will be exposed to mega-scale EPC projects of Micron’s global expansion and will plan and implement global category strategies. 

 

Build and Execute Indirect Categories 

- Work with direct and cross-functional teams to plan strategic sourcing direction for the category. 

- Recommend targets for spend reduction, sourcing efficiency, supplier management, and supply base optimization. 

- Define and deliver category cost savings and scorecard metric targets; monitor and report progress. 

- Monitor and adjust category compliance (e.g., risk, spend, quality, supplier segmentation, management). 

- Ensure implementation of category and sourcing strategies and contract compliance; resolve constraints or issues. 

- Communicate sourcing trends and results to the leadership. 

- Maintain supplier segmentation map and build partnerships with strategic suppliers. 

- Lead sourcing, qualification, and contracting strategies for materials and tool install labor. 

- Drive cost reduction initiatives and benchmarking programs across global sites. 

- Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering, and Regional Procurement teams to support material and tool install readiness and execution. 

- Oversee supplier performance, conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs), and manage supplier relationships. 

- Utilize digital platforms for cost tracking, forecasting, and benchmarking to improve project visibility and efficiency. 

- Ensure alignment of tool install practices across regions and support regional implementation of global strategies. 

- Represent Micron in industry forums and contribute to innovation and transformation in material and tool install procurement. 

 

Lead and Manage Indirect Procurement Team 

- Build a skilled, strategic Procurement team. 

- Build consensus on the assigned category strategic plan and refine as needed. 

- Drive team engagement and motivate the team to achieve aggressive goals. 

- Provide leadership on Global Procurement initiatives, offering clarity and direction. 

- Assist the Procurement Leadership in building an integrated strategic plan, including innovation and transformation. 

- Represent Micron in industry and professional forums. 

 

Interface with Stakeholders, Partners, and Suppliers 

- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, partners, and suppliers. 

- Share updates with the Procurement and Facilities Leadership Teams. 

- Escalate issues with options and recommendations for resolution. 

- Communicate strategic sourcing goals, category management plans, and initiatives. 

- Maintain relationships with senior supplier executives. 

 

Collaborate with Stakeholders to Deliver Strategic Solutions 

- Develop and maintain expertise in assigned spend categories through collaboration with internal teams. 

- Implement processes to monitor stakeholder satisfaction for key suppliers. 

- Take a proactive approach to issue resolution and Procurement representation. 

- Manage conflict and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

- Align senior and executive management on strategic decisions related to the category. 

 

EDUCATION 

- Bachelor's Degree or higher. 

- PMP certification or equivalent, preferred. 

- CPSM certification or equivalent, preferred. 

- Engineering background related to construction and tool install, preferred. 

 

EXPERIENCE 

Required 

- 15+ years’ experience in the relevant industry. 

- Strong technical background and understanding of Tool Install and Base-Build Construction. 

- Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects with minimal supervision. 

- Deep market intelligence and technical knowledge in the construction and semiconductor industry. 

- Comfortable working with senior leaders and executives; skilled in executive-level presentations. 

Preferred 

- Experience in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
