JR71581 SENIOR MANAGER, GLOBAL HEALTH AND SAFETY

As the Global EHS, Safety Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the successful development and implementation of critical initiatives and practices targeted at improving compliance to safety within our manufacturing network and the wellbeing of team members and contractors globally. You will also be responsible to develop your team’s implementation of projects and programs in the company.

The successful candidate will drive and strategic management of the company’s safety management system and initiatives based on our risk-based approach.  You will provide technical mentorship/advice to the sites, staff, and senior management on policy and regulatory development matters related to the semiconductor industry.

Primary Job Responsibilities Include:

Provide leadership, direction, and education of key critical initiatives targeted at improving safety efficiency, and complianceCoordinating global safety programs and systems at Micron to drive consistency and alignment and ensure regulatory complianceInfluencing organizations, management, and teams to maintain and develop safety performance across the corporation through use of data and metricsTeaming with other EHS professionals on a site, regional and global level to share learning, increase innovation and drive harmony throughout the Micron network.Partnering with site, regional and global collaborators to increase safety awareness, tracking, analyzing and reporting safety indicators and driving continuous improvement efforts.Initiate and plan programs for the advancement of safety management across the network based on strategy identifiedLead implementation and standard methodology sharingImplement management system criteria into safety programsLead team audits on and support implementation of follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable legal or global standardsResolve sophisticated compliance matters, including use of required data and management systemsLead all aspects of the incident investigation for EHS related events corrective action reviewsAnalyze data in compliance with current regulations, standards/policies and make appropriate recommendations to prevent new or recurring incidents
 

Qualifications:

Strong technical expertise in the area of safety operations, including hazard identification and risk analysis, equipment safety and byproducts, and incident root cause analysis.Strong leadership, vision and comfort work across interpersonal boundaries and geographiesProven track record to influence senior leaders and partners on strategic decisions across multiple functions and geographiesAbility to lead and implement global initiatives with partners across multiple geographiesAbility to be guided by business objectives and determine the best methods for delivering resultsImplement performance management systems and develop high performing teamsShowed strength in independently completing sophisticated tasksExcellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to adapt to a fast paced environmentStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsFacilitation skills including the ability to influence others

Education Required:
Minimum of a B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other relevant technical degree related to safety.

Experience Required:

Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience including proven leadership experience in the area of safety management.Ability to optimally collaborate with cross-functional organizations to understand needs and translate them into actionable plans, results, and resource requirements.Semiconductor experience.Ability to develop global programs and deploy to a multi-cultural audience.Strong interpersonal communication, and teamworkProficiency in technical writing.Excellent teammate skills.
