Senior Manager, Global Risk Management (Software Delivery & Technology Transformation)

DEPARTMENT and ROLE OVERVIEW:

Over the past years, Bain & Company has rapidly grown its presence in the software delivery and business integration segment. Today, we do not only advise clients on technology strategy, but also support them on the ground with their tech transformations by taking a Business Integrator role or even providing proprietary software solutions. These projects are bundled (together with other offerings) in Bain’s “Vector” capability.

Since this type of work comes with new risks for our clients and us, Bain is building up a new Vector Risk Management Center of Excellence (VRM CoE) to manage those risks in close collaboration with our other risk teams (e.g., Regional Risk Management, Third Party Risk Management).

As a Senior Manager, you will be the leader of this new VRM CoE, and your responsibility will be to build out and maintain our risk management approach for that type of work together with our Technology Practices and the Regional Risk teams on the ground. The VRM CoE will act as the central knowledge hub and coordinator, and you as thought leader and sparring partner for our front-line Partners. 

The role is based in Bain GBS center in Warsaw.


WHO YOU’LL WORK WITH:

You will report directly to Bain’s Head of Global Risk and lead a small team within our Warsaw Risk Hub responsible for Software Delivery and Business Integration project risk management.

In your role, you will also work very closely with our front-line Partners, Regional Risk teams and our Technology Practice teams to support a safe deliver of large software and business integration projects and to identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with these types of projects. 

Lastly, you will work closely with the Global Risk Function and our Global Leadership to regularly report how risks related to these projects are being managed and which strategic adjustments/ direction changes are required.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Develop and execute the firm's Vector Risk Management strategy, which includes the end-to-end risk management process of large software and business integration projects at Bain & CompanyKeep oversight on delivery risks globally together with your team, develop and deliver meaningful portfolio risk assessments, modeling and reporting of Vector risksBuild and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the firm, ensuring effective collaboration, and timely and effective communication of risks and issues Stay aware and up to date of emerging industry trends and advancements in delivery risk management and act as thought leader in that topic at BainProvide strategic inputs aligned with the firm’s risk appetite framework and be a thought leader on risk managing software delivery and business integration projects 


ABOUT YOU

Required: 

Master’s degree or equivalent (preferred in a risk-focused or technical field such as Cybersecurity, or Information Security, IT)Proven track record in software/ business integration risk management and/ or related experiences in managing large technology consulting projects (optimally gained at Big 4 or global Business/ System Integrator)Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data/ technical issues into meaningful insights for key stakeholders across the organizationAbility to establish and build strong relationships, seasoned in managing up and across stakeholder groups, with excellent influencing skills and a high degree of integrityComfortable working in a dynamic and flexible environment, delivering results under tight deadlines. Experienced in managing (global) virtual teamsFluent English
