Senior Manager, HRIS

SUMMARY/JOB PURPOSE:

The Senior Manager, HRIS has responsibility for all Human Resources related technology and analytics. This role is responsible for managing and executing HRIS projects, evaluating processes, building new capabilities and functionality, and automating HR processes. The role will plan, prioritize and execute Workday/HR initiatives as provided by leadership, with a focus on optimization and improving functionality and reporting This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the HRIS team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

System administrator and technical point of contact for all HR technology.

Functions as the subject matter expert for Workday HCM, Performance and Reporting.

Champions continuous process improvement with teams in Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition and Talent Management.

Manage the daily workflow for the HRIS team, ensuring quality of work and timely completion of HRIS related assignments and initiatives by establishing SLAs with internal and external partners.

Oversees the development of HR technology and transformative cross-functional initiatives to improve business outcomes for HR.

Ensures HR data integrity, data protection and data extraction for compliance/regulatory reporting.

Oversees auditing and review of HRIS data for accuracy.

Works with IT to provide support for regulatory and internal SOX audits.

Collaborate with other business unit technology owners and external vendors to identify process improvements, systems enhancements and issue resolutions.

Project manages annual events (midyear, annual), enhancements/new features and standard operation tickets while gaining alignment on plan to execute and meet deadlines.

Work to successfully test, implement, and transition new Workday features, configurations, and solutions to production.

Support Workday upgrades - support assessing impact of new Workday features, coordinating rollout with IT, project teams and business leaders, as needed.

Responsible for all HRIS reporting, the development of dashboards for reporting key metrics and developing/maintaining standard reports for customers in HR and other departments.

Maximize system driven dashboards to provide managers the tools to drive business.

Create reports and analytics for quarterly Board Meetings.

Provide quarterly incentive compensation eligibility information to business partners.

Work collaboratively with IT counterparts on understanding security roles, integrations, and other shared systems.

Work closely with IT on data interface and trouble shoot errors/discrepancies and make corrections, as necessary.

Maintains strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver operational support.

Provide business partnership to the HR team and internal partners to analyze scope, work process design and flow for HR business needs while leveraging Workday capabilities to improve processes.

Maintain awareness of current trends in HR technology and HR regulations while monitoring the Workday roadmap.

Serve as the department’s records champion ensuring that information is kept and managed in a consistent, systematic, reliable and compliant manner.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervises staff, including hiring, scheduling and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommends promotions, performance improvement or terminations.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in related discipline and eight years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:

Strong experience and deep knowledge in the Workday ecosystem required.

Workday HCM Pro Certification preferred.

Strong understanding of HR processes, systems and data flow.

Knowledge/Skills:

Experience creating short-term and long-term roadmaps for HR system improvements.

Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple assignments while gaining alignment, meeting deadlines and team standards.

Proficient in interpreting, applying and translating HR regulations and practices to improve HR processes within Workday.

Able to recommend and make decisions while balancing business requirements, internal project timelines, and technology roadmaps.

Proven track record with HR technology project implementation.

Effective communication skills, including written, oral and listening.

Able to act independently, manage ambiguity and assume responsibility for multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment, yet remain flexible in response to changing needs and competing demands.

Ability to build and maintain strong relationships.

Strong PC skills with advanced level required, including MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Self-motivated, organized, solution-oriented, collaborative team player.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The base pay range for this position is $158,000 - $224,000 annually. The base pay range may take into account the candidate’s geographic region, which will adjust the pay depending on the specific work location. The base pay offered will take into account the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and internal equity, among other factors.

In addition to the base salary, as part of our Total Rewards program, Exelixis offers comprehensive employee benefits package, including a 401k plan with generous company contributions, group medical, dental and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, and flexible spending accounts. Employees are also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus program, or if field sales staff, a sales-based incentive plan.
