JOB PURPOSEAs our Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you’ll play a key role in the management of all aspects of global indirect taxes. This will be achieved through proactive delivery of value in line with our Global Tax Strategy, management of tax liabilities through effective strategic advice and partnering to the business, as well as full compliance with statutory requirements. Our Global Tax Team of 17 people spans three continents, and as a Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, you will bring leadership capability, innovation and creativity to the team, while raising the profile of the tax function within Burberry and operating as a true business partner.
This Senior Manager, Indirect Tax role is offered on a full time, permanent basis. We operate hybrid working, with 2/3 days per week based in our Horseferry House, London office.
Supporting the development of and implementing the Group’s indirect tax strategy to deliver sustainable value Leading on a range of critical projects, for example supply chain optimisation and sales tax engine selection and implementation Driving efficiencies in VAT processes and optimises cash flow and balance sheet positions Partnering with the business to develop successful long-term strategic relationships advising on new business opportunities, operations and transactions, building awareness around tax Supporting the establishment of risk and governance frameworks, optimising the use of technology and striving for continuous improvement Managing indirect tax queries and policy matters, maintaining good working relationships with various tax authorities Reviewing new legislation and advising on the implications and risks, updating systems, manuals and policies Contributing to the development of the tax function, coaching other members of the team and wider finance function Managing indirect tax advisors and responsibility for setting and maintaining the indirect tax budget PERSONAL PROFILE
ACA, CTA or equivalent Extensive indirect tax expertise in the UK and EU essential; US Customs experience a plus Familiarity with SAP and a strong interest in technology and its use in business processes High level of business and commercial acumen, with the ability to provide pragmatic advice through business partnering, reporting, planning, compliance and risk UK and international dispute resolution Ability to think and act strategically while being able to execute on operational deliverables Demonstrated project management skills Expert communication skills and fluency in English (both written and verbal) essential
