We’re looking for a dynamic, results-driven communications professional to join our Communications team and lead internal communications strategies that inform, engage and inspire Affirmers.
This role is essential to advancing Affirm’s business objectives by ensuring internal clarity around our vision, strategy and priorities, driving productivity, and cultivating employee advocacy for our brand. As a trusted partner to leadership and cross-functional teams, you will craft and execute compelling internal campaigns and narratives that reinforce company values, promote cultural initiatives, and motivate employees.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter, persuasive storyteller, critical thinker, and problem solver. They are an excellent writer, highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about building employee pride and retention. They bring experience leading company-wide internal communications, excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and are collaborative, adaptable, and tenacious.
This is a proximal role, meaning the Senior Manager of Internal Communications will have the flexibility to work remotely, but will occasionally be required to work out of their assigned Affirm office. This position can be based in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, or Toronto.
What You’ll Do Lead Internal Communications Strategy: Refine and execute a company-wide strategy that ensures consistent, clear messaging around Affirm’s vision, strategy, and priorities. Tailor communication efforts to align with organizational goals, while fostering transparency and clarity at all levels. Optimize Internal Communications Channels: Oversee and enhance the effectiveness of key communication channels (e.g. All Teams meetings, Slack) to effectively reach employees and foster engagement Partner with Leaders and Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with other communications experts, marketers, the People team, and senior leadership to craft company-wide communications that support key initiatives - such as new programs, reorgs, and cultural projects - and ensure they resonate with employees. Provide coaching on internal messaging best practices and support executives in crafting messages in their authentic voices. Drive Employee Engagement and Advocacy: Work closely with the People team to design and implement communications that reinforce company values, cultivate ownership and pride, and empower employees to become ambassadors for Affirm. Manage Complex Communications: Partner with the Communications team and cross functional stakeholders to effectively manage messaging for sensitive or challenging situations, ensuring effective communication, consistency, and alignment across internal and external communications. Measure Impact and Refine Strategies: Define key performance indicators, assess the impact of internal communications efforts, and use both qualitative and quantitative feedback to continually improve strategies and ensure they’re aligned with Affirm’s evolving business needs. What We Look For 10+ years of communications experience — including at least 5 years in-house — with a proven track record of leading large-scale internal communications initiatives in fast-paced environments. Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, engaging messages that resonate with diverse audiences. Proven track record of building and executing internal communications programs that support business goals, drive employee engagement, and foster company culture. Employees new to Affirm typically come in at the start of the pay range. Affirm focuses on providing a simple and transparent pay structure which is based on a variety of factors, including location, experience and job-related skills.
Base pay is part of a total compensation package that may include equity rewards, monthly stipends for health, wellness and tech spending, and benefits (including 100% subsidized medical coverage, dental and vision for you and your dependents.)
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year: $180,000 - $230,000
USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year: $160,000 - $210,000
