The Team
Upstart’s Investor Services team is responsible for managing relationships with institutional capital investors, ensuring they have the necessary support, data, and insights to confidently invest in Upstart’s loan products. The team plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless connection between Upstart’s borrower marketplace and the investors who provide the capital that fuels lending.
As the Senior Manager, Investor Services, you will lead efforts to strengthen investor relationships, manage loan portfolio performance discussions, and collaborate cross-functionally to provide investors with the insights they need to make informed investment decisions.
Position Location - This role is available in the following locations: Remote
Time Zone Requirements - This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.
Travel Requirements - As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. The in-person sessions’ cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 2-4 consecutive days at a time.
How you’ll make an impact:
Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional capital investors, serving as their primary point of contact. Provide detailed reporting and analysis on loan portfolio performance, proactively addressing investor concerns and questions. Lead investor meetings, quarterly business reviews, and discussions on market trends, credit performance, and investment opportunities. Work cross-functionally with risk, data, and finance teams to ensure investors receive accurate, timely, and insightful data. Drive initiatives to enhance investor experience, including improving communication, reporting, and service levels. Handle complex investor inquiries and problem-solve challenging situations in a thoughtful, professional manner. Ensure compliance with investor agreements and contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at expanding and optimizing capital sources.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum qualifications: 7+ years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, or fixed-income asset management, ideally with a focus on institutional investors. Strong client service experience, with direct exposure to institutional investors. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. Deep knowledge of capital markets and fixed income, with experience discussing investment strategies, risk, and loan performance. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, collaborate cross-functionally, and execute in a fast-paced environment. Preferred qualifications: Background in investment management, investment banking or related field within financial services / fintech. Capital markets deal experience, especially in structured finance / consumer asset-backed securities. Proven ability to collaborate with engineering teams to drive process improvements. Knowledge of unsecured consumer lending is a plus. BA/BS degree in business, finance, economics, or other analytical areas of study. Strong analytical skills, with experience interpreting financial models and performance data. High level of creativity, strategic thinking, and problem-solving ability. Experience working with internal risk, compliance, or legal teams to ensure investor-facing materials align with regulatory requirements.

At Upstart, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. The anticipated base salary for this position is expected to be within the below range. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.
