We’re looking for a Senior Manager of IT Operations responsible for leading a team of technical professionals and outsource vendors to design, build, and support all internal IT infrastructure. Key areas of responsibility include managing cloud data center operations, LAN/WAN, Voice/Data circuits, on-premise IT equipment, SAP BASIS, and security functions. This individual will play an integral role in building a holistic view and roadmap of the company’s technology strategy, processes, and information technology roadmap, partnering with both business and technology groups to ensure that the proposed technical solutions not only align with the company’s overall objectives, but also ensuring that both groups enable and drive each other to meet the needs of the company’s mission and vision.
Our corporate headquarters is located in Chicago, IL. This role operates on a hybrid work model; employees spend two days working in the office and three days working remotely. We offer 401k plus vision, dental and medical benefits, as well as a paid holiday and PTO package.
Responsibilities:Develops overall infrastructure vision and systems architecture (e.g., private / public / hybrid cloud, vendors / partners). Aligns IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives.Ensures consistency and use of best practices in design and build of infrastructure.Manages the outsourced data center function which includes directing the provisioning and decommissioning of servers, storage, and other technology hosted by the third party.Manages on-premise servers, phone systems, networking equipment and any other technology infrastructure located in our facilities.Manages LAN/WAN & Telecommunications.Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent framework is applied across the company.Provides input on operating and capital budgets.Purchases assets, tracking of expenditures, and ensuring all licensing is sufficiently in place.Manages contracts for support and services relative to areas of responsibility.Manages SAP infrastructure: SAP Landscape, BASIS function, etc.Designs, rolls out & schedules testing of a DR solution.Leads IT Security function and manages IT Security Analyst(s) and Vendors.Maintains IT Controls related to SOX compliance and coordinates with internal and external audit teams.Partners with the IT Service Delivery Manager on End Point Management solutions.Identifies opportunities to leverage technology to increase employee productivity and/or reduce costs.Partners with business and technology subject-matter experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions.
Qualifications & Requirements:Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in computer science with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in leading an Infrastructure team, 10 years of experience in designing, building, and operating infrastructure to support mission critical systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience with designing, building, and operating solutions using public cloud technologies (AWS experience desirable )Experience with Server and Application virtualizationExperience with Cisco networking technology and Cisco TelephonyExperience with Microsoft technologies: Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 365Experience with SAP BASISDemonstrated vendor managment experience.Ability to establish, implement, and enforce appropriate IT standards to meet business requirementsComprehensive knowledge of hardware, software, application, and systems engineeringDemonstrated project management and organization skillsDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills to establish vision, plans, and status with the ability to interact with executives, team members, and the user community as needed.Ability to “think big” and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hypeStrong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teamOrganized and focused on optimal team productivity and efficienciesAbility to communicate complex ideas in non-technical language. Good listening skills and ability to fully understand concepts by asking good questions.Ability to influence, collaborate and be adaptable within cross-functional teams and internal clientsBusiness acumen - ability to separate high value initiatives from low value and articulate the difference.Influence – ability to inspire confidence and credibility and be willing and able to influence others opinions where appropriate.Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the company to obtain, analyze, and discuss business risk and solutions.Proficiency in juggling multiple, concurrent projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environmentOur salary range for this role is $128,100 - $153,700 including a full benefits package.
