Avient is seeking a Sr. Manager, IT Program Management Office (PMO) to establish and lead a global PMO. This individual will drive transformational change and deliver value through effective project portfolio management (PPM). This role will develop and implement a comprehensive governance framework for IT, digital, and AI, ensuring operational efficiencies, standardized project management, and financial management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
PMO Creation and Maturation
· Establish a global PMO, defining mission, vision, and operating model
· Develop PMO charter, goals, and objectives in collaboration with senior leadership
· Plan and prioritize project management activities, including budgeting and resource allocation
Project Management, Reporting and Communication
· Develop and implement standardized project management reporting and communication frameworks
· Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project portfolio performance
· Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for project portfolio performance
· Streamline IT delivery processes, eliminating inefficiencies and improving productivity
· Develop and manage a global project management community of practice
· Establish IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and rollout intake and demand management frameworks across the enterprise
Global Governance Framework
· Design and implement a global governance framework for IT, digital, and AI
· Establish framework for all budget spend based on Risk and Business Value Realization
· Develop policies, procedures, and standards for project management, vendor management, and contract management
· Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Vendor Partner and Contract Management
· Develop and implement a vendor management framework
· Negotiate and manage contracts with IT vendors and partners
· Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
Financial Management
· Develop and implement IT financial management processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost tracking
· Design and implement show back and chargeback models for IT services
Leadership and Collaboration
· Provide leadership and guidance to PMO staff and stakeholders
· Collaborate with senior leadership, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
· 10+ years of experience in project management, program management, or PMO leadership
· Proven track record of establishing and leading a PMO
· Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Experience with global governance frameworks, IT financial management, and vendor management
· Certification in project management such as PMP is preferred
