What is the opportunity?

The Senior Manager, IT Risk – Issues Management for RBC Bank is responsible for the management of a first line of defense (1LoD) technology issues management program. This role functions within the RBC Bank Office of Technology Risk & Controls team which holistically is responsible for establishing, enhancing and sustaining an effective Risk and Control environment for IT in accordance with RBC Bank’s IT Risk Management Frameworks/Policies/Standards and US Regulatory Compliance. The role will work with 1LoD Technology leaders and support partners to ensure technology issues are identified, risk assessed and managed through resolution. Additionally, this role will provide leadership though enhanced reporting and control reviews to ensure sustainability.

What will you do?

Identify, document and risk assess technology issues in alignment with risk standards and processes and ensure risk issues are aligned to technology standards, applications/suppliers, and compensating controlsDevelop risk remediation plans to mitigate risk within risk tolerance and analyze root causeDevelop and maintain robust relationships across all three lines of defense supporting technology riskProvide executive level reporting on issues metrics and overall themes to management committeesManage and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) for IT Findings that are impactful to RBC BankReview closure evidence for remediation to ensure risk has been mitigated in accordance with commitmentsEscalate at-risk and overdue IT issues to leadership for awareness and actionDevelop and lead awareness sessions for IT risk identification to technology teamsServe as a subject matter expert for issues management processes and provide support for technology risk assessments

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

5+ years of Technology Risk experience4+ years in the financial services or other regulated industries5-7 years of experience in a risk and control function such as risk management, internal audit, complianceBachelors degree or equivalent experience

Nice-to-have

CISM, CRISC, CISSP, or similar industry-recognized risk certificationPrior experience working in a bank
