Senior Manager, Maintenance Control Standards

Responsibilities This role's primary function is managing the Spirit Airlines Minimum Equipment List, (MEL, CDL, NEF), to ensure it is in compliance with the latest FAA MMEL and manufacturer MEL standards. This role ensures Spirit Airlines MEL conforms to “14CFR 121.628, Inoperable instruments and equipment.” The Sr. Manager of MOC Standards will also monitor the needs of the operation, department and frontline to develop training for Maintenance Control based on the observations gained. MEL Management: Responsible for ensuring MEL/CDL/NEF revisions meet regulatory requirements that include the Maintenance & Operational functions. Ensure compliance with FAA MMEL, Operations Specifications, ICAO and internal manual standards. Ensure the Spirit Airlines Minimum Equipment List conforms to 14 CFR121.628 Inoperable Instruments and Equipment and the Minimum Equipment List Preamble. Primary TechOps Liaison with the FAA and FOEB regarding MEL, CDL, & NEF Review the proposed Master MEL revisions issued by the FAA that effect Spirit Airlines fleet. Central point of contact for all MEL & CDL internal manual concerns and SME for resolving MEL Dispatch considerations when interpretation/clarification is required. Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure MEL/CDL/NEF is accurate and updated within TRAX and Sabre. Attend industry conferences to gain knowledge of changing standards Standards Identify areas to build the knowledge base within Maintenance Control Cultivate a constant growth and learning environment Execute training on all shifts and times as required by a dynamic schedule Work with new controllers to build soft skills necessary to thrive in a stressful and energetic role. Work closely with the safety department during any ASAP event related to MOC Responsible for oversight and tracking operational and key performance metrics Works closely with IT on integration of technology May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments). Qualifications FAA Airframe and Powerplant Licenses Required. This role requires a very detail-oriented personality. Able to respond quickly to questions that arise outside of normal working hours. Able to multi-task and coordinate with multiple departments. Able to communicate effectively. Spirit Network/MX Stations system knowledge. Identify constraints within the department and independently plan to mitigate. Ability to generate presentations regarding departmental performance and present them to senior leadership. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 7-10 years' experience 10+years working A320 family aircraft. 3+Maintenance Control Experience preferred. MEL Management experience preferred. Domestic & International travel approximately 25% of time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. This role is based out of Orlando International Airport (MCO).
