Position Description:

Salary Range: $145,000 to $173,850/year depending on experience and qualifications

Senior Manager, Manufacturing at ProteinSimple, located in San Jose, CA. 

1.   Manage a team of Engineers and Technicians responsible for product development, quality control and efficient manufacturing processes for biotech instrumentations comprised of electronic, optical, fluidic, and mechanical systems. Utilize 5S problem solving.

2.   Maintain design using Computer Aid Design and process documentation including Item Specification and Process Instructions, Bill of Materials (BOM). Perform change management, including creation and routing change orders, and identifying appropriate process impacts, risks, and justification for change.

3.   Manage supply chain and assist in optimizing supply chain and Lean Manufacturing.

4.   Lead capacity planning, cost reduction and quality assurance activities to meet business needs.

5.   Manage and support new product introduction processes.

6.   Collaborate across functions to meet customer needs, including appropriate internal and external training. Manage Root Cause Analysis, including FMEA.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field and 8 years as a Manufacturing Engineer or related occupation in Manufacturing Operations within the biotech industry; or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field and 6 years as a Manufacturing Engineer or related occupation in Manufacturing Operations within the biotech industry.

Must possess at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: computer aid design; Root Cause Analysis, including FMEA; 5S problem solving; new product introduction management; supply chain management; and lean manufacturing.
