Senior Manager, Medical Strategy & Operations

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a leader who can join our Medical Operations and Quality team to focus on critical strategy and operational projects. They will work with many stakeholders to develop an in-depth understanding of our business and the role that medical operations leaders play in improving everything from customer and patient outcomes to VEGgie engagement and retention, to financial and operational performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Initiatives and Planning: 

Collaborate with leadership to create a  2-3 year operational and strategic roadmap for the Medical Team Work with the Strategy Team to conduct reviews to identify the Medical Team’s strengths and weaknesses  Set goals with Medical and Operations Leaders that align with VEG’s broader strategic plan Create processes and systems to put our plans into action  Collect data to measure implementation success to inform continuous improvement  Develop, track, and evaluate OKRs and goals for the Medical Team  Stay informed about industry trends and competitors in the veterinary field to guide strategic planning 

 

Data-Informed Decision making:

Utilize qualitative and quantitative information to guide decisions, iterate and improve upon current medical initiatives. and identify new opportunities addressing unmet medical, quality, and patient safety needs  Monitor medical quality and patient safety trends across VEG to identify improvement opportunities Collaborate with Solutions & Insights Team to enhance medical performance reporting and quality metrics, which can be actioned upon Define criteria for successful outcomes and ROI for Medical Operations initiatives and adjust focus and resources accordingly 

 

Operational Excellence:

Manage operational cadence for the Medical team, including meetings and communications Collaborate with the VP of Medical Operations & Quality to lead Monthly Business Reviews and take ownership of planning and preparing for these meetings  Assess operational programs to ensure impact is sufficient

 

Driving Team Performance:

Assist Regional Medical Directors (RMDs) with strategic planning to prepare for their visits with Market Owners (MOs) Support and monitor RMD execution and performance (medical initiatives, stakeholder management)  Develop systematic approaches for RMDs to partner with MOs to enhance overall team performance

 

WHO YOU ARE

Bachelor’s degree, MBA preferred 5+ years of work experience in strategy, analytics, or operations Comfortable in a start-up environment Alignment with VEG’s mission & core values Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills High degree of confidence using Google Suite (Google Sheets, Google Slides) for analysis and communication in the workplace Adept at working with a variety of stakeholders Loves animals and wants to be a part of a company that loves animals and the people who care for them Desire to be a present, hands-on leader which includes working at our headquarters in White Plains, NY at least 3 days a week when not traveling for work Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to VEG hospitals

Pay Range: $100,000 to $150,000 per year  Medical, Dental and Vision benefits beginning day 1 of employment! 401K with company match. 10 weeks of parental leave with 100% pay. Unlimited PTO.
