WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a  Senior Manager, Mens & Womens Footwear Product Design in ACG Hike.  The ideal designer is a curious observer, eager participant and a cultural sponge – seeking insights to solve problems. You leverage your outstanding design skills with creative problem solving to create innovative solutions that elevate the experience and key benefits relevant to the athletes and communities we serve.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON

You'll build innovative footwear designs that advance the product aesthetic and performance for our targeted consumer. You'll follow the execution of all product details including construction, form, color, materials, style, fit, and performance. You'll actively seek authoritative recommendations to develop designs with regard to cost/value requirements, manufacturability, sustainability, merchandising, and aesthetic finish.

WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH

You'll collaborate with design and management teams on innovative footwear concepts from brief to market. You'll connect with members in design, development, product management, costing, and engineering to ensure feasibility of designs while adhering to product creation timeline. You'll communicate and present design concepts to various internal and external audiences. Encouraging community and leading others are also expectations for this role.  This role will have 1 direct report and will report to the Senior Design Director, Mens & Womens ACG Apparel & Footwear Design.

WHAT YOU BRING

Bachelor's Degree in product design or relevant design degree or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

8 plus years footwear design experience preferred

Experience designing and developing innovative outdoor performance footwear preferred

Knowledge of form, color, materials, human factors, related to elevating the consumer experience

Ability to translate consumer knowledge and insights into product solutions and narratives

Experience in technical footwear design - running design is a plus

Strong Photoshop, Illustrator skills

Must be able to build accurate 2D technical drawings (tech packs)

Cobbling and prototyping skills are a plus

3D design programs experience is a plus

Strong sketching, illustration, and rendering skills

Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials

Must be able to generate a broad range of concepts and solutions for each project

Knowledge and experience with sustainable design and manufacturing are a plus

Experienced with presentation programs: Keynote, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.
