Senior/Manager, Model & AI Governance

GEICO’s Model & AI Governance team is seeking a Senior Manager. This role is pivotal in the development and advancement of our Model & AI Systems governance framework. The successful candidate will work in close collaboration with the Director of Model & AI Governance, focusing on the development and implementation of governance standards, risk identification and assessment, and regulatory advisory.  Understanding of insurance Model and AI risk governance is essential, along with the ability to collaborate across functions to enhance model risk management practices.

 

Location: This is a hybrid role requiring on-site presence for three days per week at one of our office locations in Chevy Chase, MD; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; or New York, NY.

 

Responsibilities:

Governance, Compliance, and Process Improvement:

Develop, maintain, and operationalize standards for Model & AI Governance in alignment with Policy, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organizational needs.Collaborate with business teams to identify model use, risk, and propose effective mitigation strategies.Conduct ongoing reviews of the regulatory landscape, assessing insurance compliance with regulatory requirements and expectations.Prepare and present Model & AI Governance reports and analyses to Insurance Regulators and Senior Leadership.Proactively identify opportunities for framework improvements and enhancements.

 

Communication and Presentation:

Prepare and review periodic and ad hoc presentations for various stakeholders.Clearly and effectively communicate model risk events, issues, and processes.

 

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other relevant discipline.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Model and/or AI Risk governance, risk management, AI principles, preferably in a consulting environment or Financial services industry.Ability to stay updated with industry trends and AI regulatory requirements, and quickly adapt to AI methodologies. Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices in model risk management.Excellent attention to detail and  good written and oral communication skills.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in a quantitative discipline (CPA, CFE, CIA, or other certifications are a plus).Experience in Model & AI Development, Validation or Implementation.Familiarity with GenAI/LLM / RAG.


 

Annual Salary

$127,000.00 - $207,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
