<Key Responsibilities>
Field Medical Plan
- Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with TL Internal/External Stakeholders to understand their needs and expertise.
- MSL Manager should maintains and updates knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet medical needs, clinical trials and scientific activities. Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
Collaborate with Office Medical to create FM Plan
Create Territory Plan for whole team
Understand the priorities of the strategy, review and revise the Field Medical Plan accordingly, communicate it to the MSL, and create an environment where the MSL can implement it
Objective Setting/Team Management and FM Execution
- Provide direction to overall execution of the Field Medical plan
Support the creation of MSL Contributions (Workday) in line with the FM Plan, and let MSL create and execute a specific Engagement Plan
Communicates/Collaborates with Medical Lead, Partner company, sales &R&D to ensure appropriate coordination between sales, R&D and MSL activities related to TLs
Conduct performance check-ins with MSL to understand team members' progress and activities and make corrections if necessary
Collaborate with WW FM to set local KPIs and MSL Manager must evaluate performance with fairness
Ensure which MSL Insight is high impact/Actionable for Japan and also Global (Organize Local Fire(insight Meeting) with ML/DAH)
Coaching/Developing/Training
- Focused in-role coaching and developing of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) core competencies.
- Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of BMS.
MSL Manager support field activities (preparation, accompaniment, follow-up) and provide coaching through Acoach (Customer Engagement Model)
Conduct one-on-one to understand Daily work and Work Life Balance etc to make sure MSL are doing well physically and mentally, and provide support for the next meeting and the future meetings.
Conducting interviews with an eye on the future, such as career plans
Implement MSL training in collaboration with Medical Learning/WWFM
Conduct a final assessment in local on-board training and support the implementation of FM activities for new hire
<Qualifications & Experience>
- Science degree (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, APP, PA, NP), or bachelor’s degree preferred; Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical and/or pharmaceutical experience INCLUDING a minimum of 4 years of FM experience.
- Prior experience as a manager for MSLs, or equivalent experience in leading and managing high performing teams is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of inspiring and leading teams to meet or exceed expectations and goals.
- Proven successful track record of selecting, developing and retaining talented individuals.
- Strong Hematology experience required
- Working in a scientific and/or clinical research environment
- Deep understanding of TL environment and needs.
