Senior Manager, New Verticals - International Growth

We are looking for top talent to play a pivotal role in growing our International New Verticals business! We are looking for someone who is excited about joining a fast-paced environment and driving our next wave of growth. 

About the Role

As a Senior Manager on the ANZ International New Verticals S&O team, you will own overall growth for our New Verticals businesses in Australia. You will lead short term execution and long term strategy, grow our topline volume, ideate on our promotion strategy, and lead our go-to-market for new verticals that we enter, as well as so much more. You will work cross functionally with marketing, account managers, analytics, finance, and you will also lead a team of 2-3 individual contributors. This role is equal parts strategy development, individual execution, and leadership/management.  

You will report into the ANZ New Verticals General Manager.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will… Strategize. From first principles, you’ll support in developing the optimal strategy for best serving our customers and helping our merchant partners grow their businesses. Analyze. You’ll analyze the customer and use that data to inform strategy. You’ll assess the operational and financial impacts of your decisions, and iterate based on data.  Experiment. You’ll validate potential new business strategies through rigorous testing you run.  You’ll ensure we can derive measurable and actionable insights from our key initiatives and share those learnings with the broader team. Build. You’ll have your fingerprints all over DoorDash’s New Verticals business, across small, medium and enterprise businesses. You’ll do whatever it takes to launch, get 1% better every day, and scale something completely new. This means everything from high-level strategy to nitty-gritty operational details. We’re excited about you because… You are an owner - You have a demonstrated success of owning a P&L, or driving results that help achieve broader business-critical goals.  You run through walls to achieve your goals.  You are a self-starter – You have a bias for action and are able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. You are a problem solver – You have a talent for synthesizing complex problems, can translate high-level goals into actionable plans, and enjoy implementing a process. You are analytical – You can write SQL. You can analyze data in Excel / Sheets and build visuals to tell a data story. You use data to inform tough decisions, and are comfortable operating at both the 10,000 foot level and at the 10 inch level.  You work to get 1% better every day – You're always looking for opportunities to better your work product and own the outcome – both the good and the bad. You are a leader - You’ve managed teams in the past for at least 3+ years. You have 7+ years experience in consulting, finance, or related strategy/ops roles. You are an industry expert - You are familiar with the retail/grocery industry, marketplace dynamics, and last-mile delivery logistics.
