What is the opportunity?
The role of Senior Manager, Operational Risk Management is responsible for embedding, improving, and maintaining the Wealth Management Europe (WME) Operational Risk & Control program in the WME units in the British Isles. This encompasses execution of RBC Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) and the development and execution of the WME Internal Controls program within the WME business units.
What will you do?
Work closely with the WM-ORM Leaders and team, and RBC Enterprise Operational Risk to ensure that RBC standards and requirements are met for the ORM program elements.
Provide oversight of ORM measures and associated processes including KRIs, OREs, RAS, issue reporting and analysis.
Lead or participate in other BU ORM programs including RCSAs, targeted reviews, control testing in accordance with RBCs Standards.
Document and maintain repository of key controls for high-risk processes for WME businesses.
Manage evaluation, development and implementation of procedures and operational risk measures across WME where required and directed.
Be responsible for developing, embedding, improving, and maintaining non ORM risk related reporting and analysis programs, such as the WME risk appetite statement program as directed.
Leading and or participating in Local and or Global projects, initiatives or working groups as required. Supporting Operational Risk & Shared Services (OR&SS) team with IT Risk, Fraud, third party risk, data governance as required.
Support the centralization/realignment of KRI’s, ORE’s, Reporting, Issue co-ordination and follow-up and independently manage any escalations.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Exposure to operational risk management in a widespread, multi-unit organisation.
Post graduate University degree, professional designation, or relevant experience.
Knowledge of operational risk management principles.
Good interpersonal skills, ethics, and values. Analytical and decisive.
Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
Strong excel, word and PowerPoint skills.
Nice-to-have
Experience in the high-net-worth private banking segment preferred, particular in-depth knowledge of WM operations.
An industry recognised qualification relating to Operational Risk.
