Purpose
Reporting to the Director, Insurance Services within Scotia Wealth Insurance Services, the Senior Manager Operations is responsible for the management of the Operations teams (New Business Case Coordinators, Policy Services, and Insurance Supervision in our National Account Managing General Agency (MGA). The Senior Manager also collaborates with Regional Directors and the Insurance Business Development Director to provide a full suite of services to our insurance sales teams. The role is responsible for the execution of operational strategy, refinement, and monitoring of operational KPIs and process improvements. This will be accomplished by working with the Director, Insurance Services to ensure compliance with policies and sales standards.
The incumbent will also help ensure team members are kept abreast of any regulatory changes and adhere to insurance industry guidelines and best practices. This will include collaboration with internal partners as needed to ensure the business is compliant. The manager will ensure efficient and accurate handling of customer requests in a timely manner, through their management of a team of Case Coordinators, Policy Services, and Insurance Compliance.

Requirements
University degree or equivalent Minimum 10 years of progressive experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial capacity In-depth knowledge of life insurance agency operations, including National Account and MGA contracts, new business and policy service, agent contracting and policy transfers Familiarity with insurance sales process and types of insurance products is preferred. Understanding insurance commissions is an asset. Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset. Excellent written communication skills are required in this role. Problem solving and time management skills are essential in this role. Ability to work independently and collaboratively are both required. Experience with MS Office Suite is required. Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience. Collaboration & team skills - In-depth. Analytical and critical thinking skills - In-depth. Demonstrated leadership & Influence skills - In-depth. Knowledge of relevant insurance legislation Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail. Good organizational and time‐management skills Ability to take initiative, working well with minimal direction and multi‐task. Good understanding of the wealth management industry.
