Position Overview:The Senior Manager, Outbound is responsible for managing and developing leaders of people and potentially individual contributors. This position ensures business objectives aligning to PDC strategy and policy are accomplished through established, implemented and executed plans & tactic. The position’s focus is on anticipating future business need, determining organization objectives, monitoring the progress of projects and initiatives, and taking appropriate action when needed. The mission of this role is to provide the leadership, experience and guidance required to drive the technical aspects of delivering high-quality, best-in-class outbound service with a high level of customer satisfaction.

This is considered an essential onsite role, which requires regular onsite attendance.

Responsibilities:

Manage a team of Managers, Senior Supervisors and Supervisors in the Picking, Packaging, shipping Departments

Provides direction and guidance through both delegation and leadership of others

Plan, organize and control all activities of the department. Participates in developing and ensuring overall department goals, objectives and KPIs are achieved and in alignment with corporate strategy

Accountable for the performance of a team within own discipline based on departmental strategy & KPIs. Administering escalated performance/disciplinary action (i.e. policy violation/PIP)  

Lead, plan and organize department staff meetings. Provide business and team updates. Ensure that action items are completed in a timely manner

Identify opportunities for team and/or Manager/supervisor development (e.g. hard or soft skill) to ensure industry and corporate standards are met; partner with HR to develop and organize development activities  

Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand and evaluate business priorities, define requirements, and establish information-sharing mechanisms. Work alongside stakeholders and peers to implement product and service solutions

Bring a strategic, long-term, and informed perspective on issues and/ or ideas to move the business forward

Gain consensus and influence action at all levels of the organization to meet set goals and objectives

Becomes actively involved in daily operations only when required to avoid issues or resolve complex problems.

Act as a change agent who is able to gain consensus and influence action

Adapt plans and priorities to meet service and/or operational challenges  

Develops, organizes, and leads team of professional level employees to execute functional strategies set by senior management

Develops and adapts plans and priorities to address resource and ensure operational excellence

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

8+ years of experience in PDC/warehouse environment or other relevant work experience

Bachelor’s Degree, preferred

Demonstrated strong understanding of BI tools and the underlying data

Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships, work effectively in a team environment, negotiate diplomatically and work well under pressure

Experience with the electronic component distribution industry

Strong knowledge of DigiKey brand and it’s principles

Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
