About this opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Parcel Transportation & Logistics to lead and optimize our parcel shipping strategy, ensuring cost-effective solutions while maintaining an exceptional customer experience. This role is responsible for managing carrier selection, contract negotiations, and operational efficiency across multiple shipping modes. You will be responsible for building and implementing scalable logistics solutions that support business growth, improve transit times, and drive financial performance.

As a key leader in our transportation team, you will collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, IT, Operations, and Finance to develop data-driven shipping strategies that enhance service levels and reduce costs. You will also oversee carrier relationships, system configurations, forecasting, and KPI tracking to ensure compliance, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Essential Functions

Optimize Carrier & Mode Selection: Identify and implement cost-effective, high-performance shipping solutions to improve customer experience.

Forecast Parcel Shipping Demand: Provide accurate volume forecasting to carriers, ensuring seamless scaling during peak periods.

Manage Oversized & Unauthorized Shipments: Develop strategies to reduce occurrences and drive significant cost savings.

Lead Carrier Sourcing & Negotiations: Partner with Procurement to run RFPs, onboard new carriers, and negotiate contracts for best cost and service outcomes.

Ensure Compliance & Performance Monitoring: Maintain transit time accuracy, manage carrier contracts, and ensure compliance with service-level agreements.

Drive Financial Forecasting & Cost Management: Analyze contractual rates and seasonal trends to optimize shipping spend.

Develop & Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Use data-driven insights to measure performance, identify trends, and continuously improve logistics operations.

Enhance Logistics Technology & Automation: Identify and implement technology solutions to improve routing, visibility, and efficiency in partnership with IT and Procurement.

Skills and Abilities

5+ years in parcel transportation management.

Familiar with Manhattan SCALE parcel routing and configurations

Bachelor’s Degree Business Administration, Transportation, or Equivalent Experience 

Proven track record of building and implementing scalable logistics solutions to support growth.

Change agent – actively seeks and improves processes.

The ability to work closely and collaborate across functions.

Enjoy working cross functionally to enlist active participation in projects.

Plan and work, set goals, determine essential tasks and eliminate roadblocks.

Resourceful and creative in finding solutions to business challenges.

Strong analytical thinking: and digest complex data sets and create KPIs.

Comfortable using data to make decisions, track performance and ROI.

Computer proficient and comfortable with Word, Excel, and willing to learn our systems.
