The Senior Manager, Enterprise Animal Welfare Planning will support planning and coordination for the J&J Animal Welfare Council and 3Rs operational planning and execution. This role will focus on coordination and project management for base business activities related to the J&J Animal Welfare Council and overarching animal welfare strategy. A scientific background and previous in vivo expertise are preferred. Key Responsibilities: + Facilitate project management and coordination efforts for the J&J Animal Welfare Council, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and strategies. + Manage the annual 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement) awards program, including the call for nominations, review and selection of winners, planning team activities, and sponsor alignment discussions. + Provide operational oversight for internal partner engagement and the execution of 3Rs strategies. + Develop internal engagement strategies and operational plans for the implementation of industry best methods and emerging approaches. + Ensure global alignment in the operational planning and execution of enterprise driven 3Rs requirements, facilitating effective communication and collaboration across functions. + Participate in the planning and execution of routine activities for various enterprise-level committees focused on animal welfare and 3Rs. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to draft, review, and update policies related to animal welfare. Ensure enterprise reporting reflects animal welfare priorities and compliance with relevant standards. + Work closely with the J&J Animal Welfare Officer, internal and external partners, and senior leadership to advance the enterprise’s animal welfare objectives. + Coordinate and manage special projects, working groups, and initiatives that support the enterprise’s animal welfare and 3Rs goals. **Qualifications** Education: + A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field is required. An advanced degree is preferred. Experience and Skills: Required: + 2+ years of experience in project management, animal welfare, or related scientific roles is required. + Ability to engage with and understand scientific concepts related to animal welfare, in vivo research, and the principles of 3Rs is required. + Proven ability to manage complex projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively across functions to meet timelines is required. + Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and partners is required. + Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of prioritizing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment is required. Preferred: + Previous experience in, in vivo research and understanding of 3Rs principles is strongly preferred. + Experience in policy development or operational planning is a plus. + Experience drafting, reviewing, and updating policies, particularly within a scientific or regulatory framework is preferred. + Prior experience working in enterprise animal welfare or 3Rs initiatives is preferred. + Familiarity with regulatory and ethical considerations in animal research is preferred. + Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise-wide initiatives and engage with senior leadership is preferred.
