What is the opportunity?
Oversees day-to-day operations of the corporation's comprehensive compliance function and ensures consistency in approach to and compliance with internal business process rules and external regulations. Typically manages 2 or more specialized departments comprised of supervisors, managers, professionals, and/or large numbers of operational support employees.
What will you do?
Reporting to the Director of Canadian and Caribbean Privacy, the Senior Manager, Privacy is responsible for ensuring RBC's programs comply with privacy requirements and regulations. In this role, you will be part of a team that identifies and assess privacy risks, provide advisory services and legislative interpretation on access requests, consent management requests, privacy breaches and complaints.The key responsibilities include:Performing a 2L0D oversight function to assess privacy risks in response to reported incidents and/or breaches.Prepare privacy breach submissions and/or report to the applicable regulators.Provide advice and recommendations to key stakeholders on access and privacy issues.Support any inquiries from the privacy regulators and provide advisory support to 1L0D.Develop strong relationships with various stakeholders to foster a culture of privacy.Identifies contentious issues and risks, monitors changes to best practices and legal requirements, briefs senior management, and implements revisions accordingly.What do you need to succeed?
Must demonstrate knowledge and experience in privacy legislation particularly in the financial industry.Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills to investigate and respond to privacy breaches.Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to present complex facts, information and explanation to various audiences including the applicable privacy regulators.What’s in it for you?
