General Summary:
Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Procurement to lead the category management for Marketing/Marketing Services, however the idea candidate will also bring experience within the Human Resources and/or Professional Services category. You'll keep a pulse on industry trends and business requirements and consult with the business to identify and deploy best practices in procurement, category management, and supplier management. You'll collaborate with various business groups across Marketing, including our internal global agency and cross-functional teams like FP&A, Legal, Risk, Contracts, and Compliance, to maximize company value, optimize the respective category’s budget, and mitigate risk. Ideal candidates are self-directed and eager to shape the procurement related future of:
Creative advertising and brand content for Qualcomm’s products and services;Human Resources services (ie: benefits, etc);Professional Services (ie: Consulting, Audit, etc)Roles & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Develop multi-year global category plans aligned with Business and Indirect Procurement prioritiesUse current industry trends, data analysis, third-party supplier spends data and internal requirements to develop strategies that will proactively identify optimization opportunities to assist our Marketing Business Team to meet their goalsAs Category Lead, lead the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans and supplier spend management strategies, including handling of complex sourcing projects and contract negotiations that optimize value to the companyDevelop strong collaborative relationships with key business partners to understand their needs and become a trusted partner to strategically manage their spend and supplier relationshipsEstablish supplier positioning and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers, including influencing their processes, resource decisions, performance management and policies to create mutually beneficial and sustainable partnershipsDevelop strong internal partnerships across Indirect Procurement, Finance, Operations, HR, Privacy and Legal teams and act as the collaborator to bring teams together and influence a Qualcomm-wide solutionMaintain accurate and complete records, work with various business groups to simplify processes. Contribute to implementation, planning, and change management of process improvement initiatives across Indirect Procurement. Create the new different.Ensure adherence to procurement policies and manage the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues and escalations. Provide regular communication and training on procurement processes and systems to stakeholders and suppliers.Act as procurement subject matter expert in consulting with the business to identify, develop and deploy best practice procurement, category management and supplier management.Strong knowledge/skillset pertaining to the development of accurate Statements of Work and/or other governing agreements.Ability to develop and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Contracts Team to ensure agreements follow Qualcomm legal protocol and business objectives/timelines are satisfied.Knowledge & Skills
Deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and value chain, including contracts, demand management, sales & operations planning, procurement, order management, and logisticsExperience and skill working with customers, including senior leadershipMust be able to communicate effectively at executive and functional work levelsAbility to create complex and multi-layered strategies within Indirect Procurement that aligns with corporate strategies and objectives over timeMinimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or related field.• 8+ years of industry-specific experience in Procurement, Operations, or related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, supply chain, procurement, finance, management or related field10+ Years of experience in Sourcing & Procurement for Marketing, Creative Marketing or Agency Operations for a brand/client side or related disciplineDemonstrated success in sourcing, negotiating, and delivering complex contracts, with expert negotiation skills in both financial and business mattersExperience using data analysis, industry trends, relevant data, and internal spend data to create strategies and identify optimization opportunitiesProven track record of implementing category, strategic sourcing and process improvement initiativesHistory of building and leveraging relationships with business leaders and supplier executives to achieve business goalsPrevious experience driving change, managing conflict, encompassing diverse perspectives, decision-making, securing support, and building consensus to achieve goalsDemonstrated experience exceeding the demands of various internal stakeholders across multiple business units and regionsExperience using varying types of communication to effectively articulate complex ideas and strategies to C-level executivesExperience working in a self-directed environment, maintaining a focus on teamwork and interpersonal communicationExperience working in creative marketing or agency operations for a brand/client sideExperience supporting global Marketing teams to build marketing business and staffing modelsExperience working at/with an advertising agency in creative, agency operations, or account managementExperience developing and executing strategic sourcing category plansExperience with Human Resources and/or Professional Services categoriesExperience working in a high-growth, fast paced environmentUnderstanding of various international markets and the experience managing and navigating the complexities of global sourcing strategiesFamiliarity with relevant software or technology used in sourcing and procurementHigh emotional intelligence with an ability to balance sustained levels of workload in a fast-paced environment; Exceptional communication skills are requiredCertifications or advanced degrees in procurement, supply chain management, or a related fieldQualcomm is an equal opportunity employer. Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$139,500.00 - $209,500.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
