The Molecular Controls and Custom Reagents manufacturing group designs, develops and manufactures Armored® RNA and DNA controls and high-quality molecular control reagents for clients upon request.  We follow cGMP standards to ensure product traceability and consistency and customer satisfaction.  The controls we manufacture are used both internally and externally to support clinical testing and diagnostic product development and manufacturing.

As Senior Manager of the MDx Controls team, you will lead both the regulated and non-regulated control value streams encompassing production scheduling, material management, sourcing and logistics functions, manufacturing production, and talent management.  Additionally, you will oversee sequence design, process improvements, new technology development, and customer and key stakeholder interaction.

As part of Asuragen’s leadership team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring we have efficient and effective systems and processes in place to deliver the highest quality products and services to our customers.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate core competencies in manufacturing and production management via effective utilization of an ERP system, driving the highest levels of quality, cost control, and efficiencies.                         

What You’ll Do

Oversee new product design and development, utilizing design controlOversee the production of all diagnostic controls and custom reagents for saleManage daily operations, including custom product manufacturing, supply chain activities, maintenance, and inventory management.Act as technical consultant with new customers and work with technical support team as neededWork closely with commercial team to ensure products and services are quoted with appropriate deliverablesWork closely with product management team to guide and draft outward facing collateralHold responsibility for operational budgeting and planning and approval of expenditures and capital equipment purchases.Responsible for the design and management of resource needs including facilities, equipment, and personnelWork closely with research & development, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs to improve policies, procedures and programs.Participate in planning, budgeting and meeting for strategic initiatives and long-term goals of the organization.Manage the MDx Controls team through appropriate hiring, training, mentoring and career development.Maintain compliance with all laws and regulations associated with developing and manufacturing FDA/IVD regulated products.Utilize ERP system (QAD) for managing work orders, production scheduling, component availability management, and inventory control.Other duties as assigned.

Who You Are & What You Bring

A B.S./B.A. in Life Science, Engineering or related field from a four-year college or university with an advanced degree such as an MBA or PhD preferred.  At least 10 years of industry-related manufacturing/production experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Demonstrated leadership in molecular product development,commercialization and business development.Expertise in the development, manufacturing, quality control and regulatory requirements associated with commercialization of nucleic acid and protein-based diagnostic products.Knowledge and use of MRP and ERP systems with specific experience with QAD ERP preferred.Significant experience working under cGMP Manufacturing Regulations and ISO13485 required.Adept at working cross-functionally with team members across all levels and departments.Proven ability to manage processes, people, and budgets to meet business objectives.Demonstrated ability to train, develop and mentor others.Proven ability to develop, deploy and track performance metrics to drive efficiency and accountability.Demonstrated success in building and leading technical and operation teams.Strong communication skills with clients and auditing bodies.A can-do professional approach to business and a willingness to be accountable for results.
