Position SummaryThis Morrisville-based position is responsible for (but not limited to) establishing, developing, designing, promoting, and executing on world class sales training content and curriculum for the preparation, onboarding, coaching, and development of new field sales representatives. Through education, this role will reinforce business unit strategy through the establishment of ongoing training initiatives for the existing sales force to meet all present and future business needs. Additionally, this role will lead customer-focused training initiatives, including resident and fellowship programs, to ensure the safe and effective use of our products.
Principal Responsibilities• Define core competency requirements and methodology for assessing trainee competency (knowledge and demonstrated ability to apply) across all phases of training
• Ongoing modification and enhancement of training curriculum to maintain alignment with core sales competency and current sales strategies/initiatives
• Collaborate with Shared Services, HR and the SLT to provide corporate onboarding to all new hires
• Drive consistent completion of Field Sales Trainer objectives through annual Field Sales Trainer School, refining best practices, dialogue with Regional Sales Managers pre/during/post Field Sales Trainer session, and Field Sales Trainer Letter roll up to Director’s of Sales
• Develop ongoing developmental courses to enhance skillset of high performing representatives and drive retention
• Work with Surgical Marketing/R&D and Shared Services to develop needs analysis; schedule and facilitate new hire and ongoing product & procedure training
• Prepare and maintain learning objectives and audience specific training materials such as PowerPoint slides, audio-visual resources, e-learning tools, and hand-outs in alignment with current product portfolio and market strategy
• Collaborate with International BU managers to standardize training objectives, implementation of sales strategy, and utilization of sales aids/technologies
• Preprare and execute on training sessions for employees across all shared services
• Act as a liaison between Sales, Marketing, and R&D to bring new sales aids (literature, demonstration material) together with new product development opportunities and market strategy for launch to the field sales team and integration with training curriculum
• Stay current with medical procedures and trends to implement the latest market and clinical trends into the training and development programs
• Keep abreast of all training industry trends, techniques, and technologies for developing leaders and improving sales skills
• BS or BA degree (required)
• Prior experience directly managing people (strongly preferred)
• Experience planning and executing on highly detailed events or projects with milestones, schedules and deadlines
• Experience providing constructive feedback
• Previous medical device sales experience
• Previous FST or RSM experience
• Clinical knowledge of general and other surgical procedures
• Previous curriculum development/curriculum design experience
• Strong public speaking and written communication skills
• Strong platform presentation skills
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to anticipate and plan for training and development needs
