Job Description:
For the past 60 years, from the dawn of the Space Age, our L3Harris weather business has been an industry-leading provider of high-precision, space-based instruments for severe weather tracking and forecasting and low-latency, high-throughput ground systems providing command, control, communications, data processing, and spectrum management for domestic and international customers. We are looking for a portfolio lead who will be responsible for driving successful program execution, customer satisfaction, and financial performance in our LEO Weather business area. The on-site Portfolio Lead will spearhead initiatives to ensure long-term business success, including strategy development and talent succession planning. Additionally, they will maintain accountability for the execution of all program phases, from start-up to delivery. Opportunities for problem solving and innovation are regularly complex, requiring broad-based consideration of variables that impact multiple areas of the organization. This position will have a direct interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholder leadership. The role includes responsibility for guiding L3Harris’ employees in their work and influencing them to deliver their best and to act within the L3Harris corporate values.
Essential Functions:
• Accountable for overall program performance commitments to include:o Customer Satisfaction: Continually delighting our customers with our values, responsiveness, and overall mission performanceo Financial: Orders, sales, operating income, investment, cash flow, budget, and reserve forecasting and executiono Schedule: Timely, responsive, and successful completion of all program activities (informal) and deliverables (formal)o Quality: Program deliverables meet or exceed L3Harris and customer expectations• Responsible for business strategy development including market and capability assessment and resulting product development and pursuit recommendations• Ensure all resources including staff and facilities are available to support the portfolio• Prepare and provide reports and briefings to L3Harris leadership
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience; Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience; Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Experience developing and executing business strategy• Capture management and proposal experience• Large development program leadership experience• Space program experience via both Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Other Transactional Agreements (OTA)• Experience in program growth through value-added change proposal activity• Strong customer relations with NASA, NOAA, or DOD customers• Familiarity with national weather enterprise, including knowledge of cognizant government and industry stakeholders• Team leadership experience• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal skills
