Overview
HP is on a mission to build a more sustainable and resilient supply chain. Core to this mission is driving break-through performance across our global manufacturing network of partner, original design and contract manufacturers. The Leader of Supplier Quality is responsible for leading our global supplier network; delivering exceptional quality, mitigating risk, and developing a future ready supply base. This position reports to the Global Head of Personal Systems Operations Supply Chain Quality.
Responsibilities
· Lead and develop a global team of quality engineers and quality professionals responsible for quality assurance across our global network of suppliers and sub tier suppliers.
· Collaborate with product engineering, product management, operations and procurement to assess & develop new suppliers and drive continuous improvement with existing suppliers
· NPI launch readiness ensuring suppliers meet milestones and requirements throughout the product development cycle including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plan, run at rate (capacity & quality) and PPAP approval.
· Develop and implement supplier quality strategy and roadmap to drive supplier product and process improvements. Includes an assessment of exiting supplier capabilities & processes, bench marking known industry best practices, gap identification/prioritization, establishment of plans and projects to mitigate, and driving project implementation.
· Supplier performance monitoring, lead global team to manage performance metrics and use data to drive performance improvements (ex. Warranty, PPM, etc).
· Supplier and Maturity assessments, to ensure supplier quality management systems (QMS) are operating properly and proactively identify systemic process issues.
· Drive issue resolution with suppliers regarding quality topics (manufacturing & field). Establish containment, drive root cause analysis, implement short term/long term corrective actions and prevent reoccurrence actions.
· Develop a sub tier supplier management program, improve visibility of all aspects of quality throughout the product transformation process (manufacturing site down to 2nd, 3rd tier suppliers as needed/applicable).
· Support Warranty Recovery, working cross functionally to recover cost from suppliers for supplier caused warranty/customer issues.
· Support supplier sustainability processes development and implementation to support HP sustainability targets.
· Continuous Improvement, data driven projects implemented to reduce cost, improve quality and improve efficiency. Establish and monitor leading indicators with a process to act and resolve issues. And share best practices across the supplier network.
· Develop team skills and capabilities to support current strategic activities and also build an organization that can support the future ready supply chain.
· Anticipate roadblocks, both intellectual and political, and proactively address issues before they impact business results.
· Partner with Supply Chain functions and subject matter experts to help inform new ideas by identifying areas to differentiate and capture value.
Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline (engineering) or equivalent experience; advanced university degree preferred
· 12+ years of experience in a supply chain manufacturing and supplier quality required.
· Significant Supply Chain and Operations background required, with experience in supplier manufacturing, product, and process quality required; experience with PC original design manufacturers (ODMs) preferred
· Experience operating in a lean production system (TPS or equivalent) with lean six sigma credentials and experience
· Transformational program management. Demonstrate experience in transforming an organization and/or business model by changing processes, systems, people/skills, culture, etc.
· Strong interpersonal skills that foster collaboration within team, with business partners, cross-functional teams and with suppliers
· Experience developing and leading a Supplier Relationship Management program
· Executive influence and communication skills across verbal, written and formal presentation settings. Strong problem-solving skill with analytic mind-set
