Senior Manager, Recruitment NVA Canada

NVA Canada is looking for a self-driven, innovative, and entrepreneurial Manager to lead our Talent Acquisition and Strategic Sourcing function across Canada for domestic and international DVMs recruitment.


Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, this role will oversee and lead NVA Canada’s domestic and international DVM, RVT and HM recruitment efforts. As an ambassador of NVA Canada, you love making connections, meeting new people, and building meaningful relationships all with the goal of competing for the best talent. You are multi-faceted with a great mix of problem solving and interpersonal communication skills, which enables you to succeed in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment. You will drive our digital recruitment presence, create partnerships with industry, associations, and college/university contacts (both domestic and international) and establish a recognizable “employer of choice” reputation. You’ll do this with significant resource and support from our dedicated North American recruitment team as well as your Canadian operating partnerships, to be able to build and shape the path forward for Canada!

What You’ll Do:

Provide proactive counsel to the VP Operations in the area of recruitment to align strategic efforts in service to organizational recruitment needs.Serve as a trusted business partner to the NVA Canada Leadership Team, Field Operations teams, and HR Business partners, offering counsel, expertise collaboration, and in depth understanding of domestic and international DVM recruitment.Lead, develop and empower a strong talent acquisition team that is engaged, supports, and understands the needs of the organization.Develop and execute sourcing plans, bringing fresh ideas and strategies that will attract talent in a meaningful way.Develop screening and interviewing practices to support Field Operations and Hospital Leadership.Partner with hiring managers to facilitate candidate screening and interview process - creating a positive experience for all parties.Research, build networks and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting, developing an ongoing database of short term and long-term candidates. Develop a pool of qualified candidates in advance of need. Network, build relationships and promote the NVA Canada team within the community (i.e. associations, campus recruiting and/or conferences)Oversee the hosting, facilitating, and participation in career fairs and onsite hiring events. Oversee the development of intern/externship programs + Support the immigration process for relocating candidates and background screening processUtilize Avature to capture, track and build a robust pipeline of candidates. Own and track all metrics, candidate activity, and use data to make decisions around the hiring process and candidate flow. Establish goals and KPIs to drive success and develop the future strategy of the function.Strive for operational excellence: elevate internal processes, focus on candidate experience, and reduce timeline to candidate start date, ensure consistent candidate experience, and evaluate and develop tools and strategies that can cascade between recruitment functions and teams.Develop and deliver best practices within all recruitment functions. Influence, as an accomplished business partner, diverse business leaders to provide thoughtful and relevant solutions that drive increased adoption of varied streams of talent (new grad, foreign trained, international) with Field Operations stakeholders.Serve as subject matter expert in the area of talent sourcing, recruitment marketing, immigration and licensing.Travel will be occasionally required to attend team meetings and hiring events, as needed.
