The Opportunity:
The combined Retail Strategy and PMO teams at Sephora play a pivotal role in driving and executing key retail initiatives to support the organization's objectives. The Retail Strategy team focuses on planning and presenting macro retail strategies, conducting business insights research, and performing retail performance and financial modeling to inform and influence sound decision-making. Meanwhile, the PMO team enables these initiatives to be executed on time, within scope, and budget by managing project intake and approval processes, aligning priorities, assessing risks, and providing strategic guidance. Together, they ensure Retail is focused on the right things at the right time for the right reason.
As the Senior Manager, Retail Budget you will own and drive the annual budget planning and forecasting processes to ensure adequate financial resources have been secured to support the execution of our Retail initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Director, Retail Strategy & PMO, you will also serve as the subject matter expert within the Retail department for all financial matters, including OpEx and CapEx budgets and expense reconciliation. You will also work collaboratively with Finance to review and analyze the Retail P&L, developing action plans to mitigate financial risks and optimize performance.
Lead the cross-functional planning, development and oversight of the annual division budget and all its related processes, including proposals for increased headcount, opex and capex Work collaboratively with Retail leaders to build and provide oversight of team budgets that support the execution of Retail strategies, including T&E, equipment purchases and contract work Design, implement and continuously optimize a budget operating model within the context of an expanding organization, including internal control policies and procedures Lead departmental expense management activities, such as creating PRs/POs, reconciling invoices and other expenses (e.g., AmEx purchasing cards), tracking budget allocations, investigating discrepancies and developing and monitoring saving initiatives Ensure departmental expenses are appropriately expensed using the correct category utilization and work with the Accounting team to correct as needed Track expenditure requests against team and project budgets, working with team leaders to address unbudgeted risks Support month-end close process through variance analysis, preparation of accruals and releases and presentation of close results to senior leadership Analyze and communicate emerging budget trends, deficits and surpluses to senior leadership on a timely basis Produce monthly financial reports for department cost centers, including operating and capital spend Develop, build and maintain executive reporting dashboards Create recurring or ad-hoc reports as requested Assess the monthly Retail P&L with an understanding of details and drivers behind key lines (e.g., sales, gross margin, inventory, etc.) to help identify risks and improvement opportunities; partner with Finance team to develop solutions as needed Perform a variety of statistical and financial analyses, including cost/benefit and program cost analysis Maintain awareness of retail industry news and trends related to financial matters (labor market, cost-saving measures, macroeconomics, tariffs, etc.) and relay periodic updates to senior leadership Support LVMH-owned audits with data gathering and reporting as needed

5+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role 3+ year of experience in financial planning and analysis Demonstrated expertise in developing annual budgets and their associated monitoring processes Experience with and confidence in delivering presentations to senior management Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skillset General knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and activity-based accounting methods Proficiency in MS Office; advanced Excel skills required (e.g. formulas, macros, pivot tables, lookups) Experience with Tableau or Power BI preferred Strong organizational skills including the ability to effectively manage numerous, concurrent projects and tasks in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment Exceptional interpersonal communication skills Ability to use good judgment and maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information High level of fiduciary responsibility and trustworthinessThe annual base salary range for this position is $151,810.00 - $169,670.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
