Senior Manager, Service Center (Break Bulk) Requisition Id: 375395 Business Unit: LTL Location: Indianapolis, IN, US, 46241 **What you’ll need to succeed as a Senior Service Center Manager, Break Bulk at XPO** Minimum qualifications: + 5 years of leadership experience in a distribution, supply chain, procurement, maintenance or transportation service company + Experience leading a minimum of five direct reports and large teams + Experience managing a P&L to achieve financial objectives + Experience in engaging customers and developing an account base + Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, DOT regulations, OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and Tariff rules + Experience with Microsoft Office, including performing and directing moderately complex analyses in spreadsheet and database programs such as Excel and Access + A valid driver’s license and the ability to drive without time-of-day restrictions + Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays and to travel as needed Preferred qualifications: + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business or a related field, or equivalent related work or military experience. + 7 or more years of leadership experience in a distribution, supply chain, procurement, maintenance or transportation service company + Forklift experience + Capable of effectively managing vendor and customer relationships at all levels + Anticipate long-term challenges and trends, understand implications of decisions and translate ideas and concepts into practical applications using critical thinking skills + Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to action plan and make data-based decisions + Exceptional verbal and written communication, group presentation and administrative skills **About the Senior Service Center Manager, Break Bulk job** Pay, benefits and more: + Competitive compensation package + Full health insurance benefits available on day one + Life and disability insurance + Earn up to 15 days of PTO over your first year + 10 paid company holidays + 401(k) option with company match + Education assistance + Opportunity to participate in a company incentive plan What you’ll do on a typical day: + Lead all employees working at the break bulk facility; Recognize and manage employees’ performance, lead situational and competency awareness and develop talent + Respond promptly to customer inquiries and concerns and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. Analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement to enhance overall quality and service levels + Own and achieve P&L goals for the facility, including coaching to Key Performance Indicators + Lead your leadership team to plan the daily and long-term labor needs to ensure freight is transported on time and damage free + Provide clear and frequent updates to all employees about break bulk productivity and company policies and procedures + Conduct regular team meetings to foster employee engagement and address any concerns + Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives to improve the operation and drive sustained profitability + Establish a safety mindset and culture. Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facility and equipment + Ensure compliance with all applicable laws/regulations, and all company policies/procedures + Hold the team accountable to route proper documentation and oversee procedure control for hazardous material shipments + Work creatively with multiple functional areas to execute action plans to increase efficiencies and achieve facility goals Senior Service Center Managers, Break Bulk are required to: + Frequently lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift greater than 75 lbs. + Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel + Work in both an office and dock environment in various weather conditions which may include extreme heat or cold; work conditions may include walking, standing or sitting for extended periods of time **About XPO** XPO is a top ten global provider of transportation services, with a highly integrated network of people, technology and physical assets.
