The Job:
The newly created role is yours for the taking, it will be what you make it! Senior Manager, Social /Head of Social will lead and drive the D2C social strategy (and its platforms) for the launch and beyond of the new streaming service Max.
In this job you will:
Lead the charge in crafting and championing world-class editorial strategies for some of the biggest brands in entertainment (hero Max + HBO + Warner Bros. + Discovery + Harry Potter + DC).
Help shape how our global brands invest in and approach editorial creative.
Elevate our appointed agency’s content and strategic game while keeping us ahead of our competitors.
Turn cultural moments into opportunities through sharp social listening and strategic thinking.
Reporting and analyzing results to share with local and global leads and beyond.
Reporting directly to the Senior Director, Marketing and Publicity ANZ. This role will have one direct report, Social Media Manager in Sydney, to support the execution of strategy.

Specific Role Requirements:
Strategic Leadership & Creative Direction
We’re starting from 0 so we need a strong drive for Max’s creative vision by developing and implementing innovative editorial strategies that elevate our mission of creating conversation-worthy ideas
Spearhead the strategic direction and creative excellence for Australia to be one of the best in social at WBD
Help lead, create and mentor agency and creatives to deliver industry-leading, audience-first creative thinking
Build and nurture internal and global colleagues and stakeholders serving as a true collaborator, the Australian editorial authority and trusted colleague.
Editorial Excellence & Content Strategy
Oversee and create multi-channel content strategies and ensure seamless execution across social platforms
Define and maintain editorial standards, tone of voice, and quality benchmarks for Max Australia
Transform insights into compelling narratives and measurable content strategies
Be the architect on integrated social campaigns that effectively blend owned, earned, and paid media
Pioneer new approaches to content creation that keeps Max at the forefront of social innovation
The Essentials:
8+ years’ experience in social media marketing, ideally within an entertainment, D2C or consumer marketing company.
Demonstrated track record of leading and managing strong stakeholder relationships with a high degree of professionalism.
Proficient with photo and video software editing tools including but not limited to Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Canva, Illustrator, InDesign FinalCut.
Deep understanding of platform-specific content strategies and emerging social media trends.
Strong portfolio showcasing successful, large-scale social campaigns and editorial initiatives.
Expert knowledge and skill in reporting and presenting on social media analytics, content measurement, and ROI optimisation.
Ability to thrive in an ever-changing digital environment and comfortable working well under pressure.
A genuine, enthusiastic and passionate fan of entertainment, pop culture, new trends with excitement for WBD content and product.
