Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Special Credit Unit.

Principal Responsibilities

Formulate, implement and regularly review / update suitable recovery strategies using flexible and appropriate influencing stylesPreventative and pro-active measures through timely decisions and actionsLead / participate in bank groups to maximize recovery for the Bank as well as the body of creditorsAchieve AOP targets which cover, amongst others, impairment levels, cost reductions and account closingsEfficient and timely submission of credit proposals and reportsConstructive suggestions on strategies to ensure time and cost efficient recovery outcomes are effectedManage claims of Small and Medium Enterprises financing scheme guaranteesBy proactively managing service provider to dispose the properties by private treaty, public auction or other means at highest achievable prices in the quickest possible mannerMake appropriate recommendations to senior management for raising and releasing LICsMaintain accurate and up to date LIC and recovery forecastsRegular review and reassessment of exit opportunities available for non performing loans (“NPLs”)Maintain relationships with banks and investors active in the NPL marketProactive management of CRR7.1 to CRR8.3 accounts and regularly review and implement appropriate strategies to minimize further credit deterioration and raising of LICsProvide advice on account strategy on Watch List accounts and other non-LMU accounts, as appropriate to improve credit qualityParticipation in Watch List meetings with the businesses and provide pro-active, value added inputBe up to date on current property conveyancing and insolvency laws and news in Hong Kong Macau, and other jurisdictions, as appropriateAppropriate networking with lawyers, accountants, restructuring advisors, liquidators and other relevant professional in the NPL industry in Hong Kong Macau
