Job Title: Senior Manager, Systems Engineering Job Code: 21896 Job Location: Greenville, Texas Schedule: 9/80 Job Description: The Senior Manager Systems Engineering (SE) will be a working engineer who also supervises experienced professionals supporting the requirements, design, development, test, integration, and troubleshooting of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on airborne and simulation lab communication platforms. The Senior Manager SE requires broad management and cross-functional leadership knowledge and mastery level knowledge within the airborne communications area or broad expertise across multiple related job areas. They will be an internal expert and thought leader with broad experience across multiple job areas. They will manage large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance to the organization. They will communicate within and outside of the organization to influence leadership to accept new practices, approaches, and concepts. The will recommend tactics and strategies that directly impact the achievement of overall business or functional results. Essential Functions: + Communicate and influence leadership regarding matters of substantial importance to the function or business area + Hiring, firing, promotion and compensation authority within organization + High degree of responsibility for resources: manpower, material assets, and schedules + Responsible for improving upon existing processes or establishing new systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation + Prepare and present technical results for internal and external program meetings + Document and support design verification tests within lab, ground and flight test environments + Develop, track and present technical metrics + Evaluate requirements definition, flow-down and traceability + Analyze data from verification test efforts + Generate and maintain schedule for engineering activities + Maintain risk assessment and development of mitigation strategies + Work closely with Project Engineering and Program Management + Support training and development of new team members + Responsible for managing engineering team during travel to offsite facilities for integration Qualifications: + Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills + Read and interpret technical specifications, engineering blueprints, test procedures, and technical publications + Hands-on experience with testing, integrating, and verifying software and/or hardware + Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teamcenter, DOORS, etc. + Experience working successfully both independently and in a team environment + Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment + Engineering efforts involving FAA-certified general category aircraft (747, 757, 737 or G-5x0 preferred) + Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate engineering discipline (Electrical, Systems, Telecommunications, etc.) and a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Substitution of additional relevant education and experience for stated qualifications may be considered + Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. + Willingness to travel Preferred Additional Skills: + Position prefers an active Top Secret (TS/SCI) DoD Security Clearance. This position requires an ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI level clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
