Introduction to the Role:  

You could be part of our next chapter as we seek a dedicated and collaborative tax strategic professional to join AstraZeneca as Senior Manager, Tax Valuations and Economic Analysis as part of the Global Tax Strategy and Partnering team.  The role is focused on providing specialist advice and guidance on tax valuations, economic analysis, and scenario modeling for strategic tax initiatives. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering thorough analyses and economic insights to inform and drive strategic business decision-making while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. 

The role will work closely with the members of AstraZeneca’s tax planning and business partnering teams to provide economic analysis and modeling to support projects that align with the AZ Group’s long term tax strategic vision.   

The successful candidate will join an increasingly dynamic and highly visible global Tax Team and should be prepared for frequent interaction with diverse internal and external stakeholders, operating in fast-paced environment with competing priorities and many unknowns and opportunities to work on complex and cutting-edge issues across multiple jurisdictions. 

This is a hybrid position that will require travel to an AZ office 3 days per week. 

Responsibilities: 

Conduct comprehensive tax valuations and fair market valuations of IP using various methodologies. 

Support strategic tax planning and ensure compliance with relevant cross-border tax regulations. 

Facilitate tax and fair market valuations of IP assets for licensing, transfers, and strategic alliances. 

Coordinate with external service providers to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements. 

Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather, review, and process data necessary for valuations and ad-hoc analyses. 

Ensure data integrity and accuracy throughout the valuation process. 

Develop and execute ad-hoc economic analyses, including "what-if" and sensitivity scenario analyses. 

Evaluate potential impacts of merger and acquisition integrations, IP asset transfers, and regulatory changes. 

Guide strategic decisions through comprehensive economic assessments. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

5+ years of relevant experience in valuations, public accounting, tax, and/or consulting. 

Demonstrated experience with valuation methodologies, including tax and fair market valuations of IP. 

Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage and interpret complex financial data. 

Proficiency in financial modeling tools such as Excel

Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex valuation concepts to a diverse audience. 

Preferred Skills/Experience:

Advanced degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field with professional certification in valuation (e.g., CFA, CVA) highly desired. 

Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry is an asset.
