Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and Compliance

The Sr. Manager of Technical Accounting and Compliance will be responsible for overseeing and providing guidance to SCIEX accounting personnel globally on complex accounting issues and internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Danaher Accounting Policies, and supporting the financial reporting process. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical accounting and SOX, strong analytical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to various stakeholders.

This position is part of SCIEX Global Controllership team and will be located in our SCIEX headquarters office in Framingham, Massachusetts.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

Provide expert advice on complex accounting issues, including but not limited to revenue recognition, lease accounting, asset impairment analysis and inventory accounting. Research and interpret accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS) to ensure accurate application and compliance.Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures in accordance with Danaher accounting policy, regulatory requirements and best practices.Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and internal controls over financial reporting. Collaborate with regional finance teams in ensuring internal controls testing requirements are submitted timely and provide guidance in addressing control exceptions, if any.Support the SCIEX global consolidation and financial reporting process to Danaher. Collaborate with the regional finance teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results.Coordinate with internal and external auditors during the annual audit process, providing necessary documentation and support.

  

The essential requirements of the job include:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 9+ years OR Master's degree in field with 7+ years OR Doctoral degree with 4+ years experienceCPA certification required along with relevant experience preferably in a public accounting firm or a publicly traded companyIn-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SOX requirements.Ability to interpret and apply complex accounting standards, strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Travel Requirements: 

Ability to travel – 5-10% travel domestic and international

It would be a plus if you also possess:

Life science industry backgroundProficiency in accounting software (Oracle, HFM, OneStream) and financial reporting tools.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior management and other stakeholders.
