Job Summary:
The Senior Manager of Transportation will lead GameStop’s transportation operations, driving efficient, cost-effective, and customer-focused logistics across the supply chain. This role is instrumental in managing inbound and outbound freight, optimizing transportation networks, and ensuring compliance with U.S. Customs and trade regulations. As a strategic leader, the Senior Manager will oversee carrier relationships, negotiate contracts, and develop data-driven strategies to achieve operational excellence, financial goals, and sustainability initiatives. By collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and mentoring a high-performing transportation team, this leader will play a pivotal role in enhancing service quality, minimizing costs, and supporting the company's omnichannel growth objectives.

This position will sit onsite 5 days per week in Grapevine, Tx

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, including scheduling, routing, and load planning for inbound and outbound shipments.Monitor carrier performance and establish KPIs to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.Collaborate with internal teams, DC and refurbishment operation teams, merchandising, in stock, private label and store operations, to align transportation activities with business needs.Supervise and control import declaration activities and maintain compliance with the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and other relevant trade compliance regulations.Monitor, track, and communicate status updates of shipments ranging from parcel to inbound containers to key stakeholders.Support development of tools to monitor and add controls were required to minimize risk of loss, delay, or to provide a lower cost structure in transportation.Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing transportation team.Manage relationships with transportation providers.Participate in negotiations on pricing and contractual matters with vendors, carriers, and contractors to secure favorable terms that align with business objectives.Develop and manage the transportation budget, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals.Continuously evaluate networks and work to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.Analyze freight spend and recommend strategies to reduce costs and improve efficiency.Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in Import and transportation, making informed process, and business decisions and recommendations, based on a comprehensive understanding of industry practices, standards, and trends.

Must Have Qualifications

6+ Years of transportation experience3+ years of management experienceExperience with U.S. Customs regulations, classification determination, and ability to use multiple tools for information gathering3+ years of experience with Ocean FreightBachelors degree in a relative fieldAnalytical skills to assess transportation market trends, evaluate carrier performance, and make data-driven decisions.Customs HTSExpert level Microsoft Office and excel skills.Excellent communication, problem solving, and organizational skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.Data driven decision maker with a high level of curiosity to investigate continuous improvement possibilities

Preferred qualifications

MBA or Masters DegreeExperience managing and bidding domestic FTL/LTL freight.Experience negotiating and interpreting  parcel carrier contractsProficient in SQLExperience utilizing Transportation Management SystemsOmni-channel experienceExperience with P&L ownershipExperience with SAP
